Talisman Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 (edited) It's warmer than most people think Julie - when I was there in October the temperature went down to a little above freezing point, but I have been there in the summer months and had temperatures well into the 70's. Most of the people of course live around the coast, as the interior is little more than barren desert (and the odd delicious hot spring), so there is not that much vegetation, but of course in the larger towns and villages people have gardens like in any other country. I do though recommend that ghost story - I am hoping to be able to visit the abandoned settlement where the book is set next summer, as it's a part of the country I haven't explored as yet. It may be a little difficult though to understand for those who are not familiar with the country, so it is good in a way that it is not yet available in the US, as that gives you time to read about the country a bit more. julie Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Thanks June It sounds like a really pretty place . That'll be neat to see the are where the ghost book takes place. I have it on my list for when it comes out , on Kindle in March . I'll try to do some reading up a bit more on the country before then . Quote

I can understand it though. It was a bit flat in the reading, but the detailing was excellent, I thought. Quote
