rizefall Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Hello everybody! From my childhood i remember a book i read (and even a movie) that had something to do with witches and a boy. The problem is i dont remember anything else other than that i liked it. The only thing i remember from it (if i even remembered it correctly) is a scene when the boy is hiding under a table or counter of some kind where one of the witches were standing and talking. He hid under it watching her legs and feet while she was talking to other witches and that's all i know...I really want to find this mostly cause i remember liking it and i can't remember anything about it other than that scene mostly cause it scared me so much cause he was in deep trouble. Thanks for any help! Quote
chesilbeach Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 That sounds like it could be The Witches by Roald Dahl to me. Quote

chesilbeach Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 You're welcome. There was a film version of it too, with Angelica Houston. If that helps Quote

chesilbeach Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 It's been a while but I think I remember him hiding under the table or on a food trolley or something similar at the witches conference, but I couldn't say for definite as its been about 10 years! Quote
muggle not Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) kudos to you chesilbeach, you are good. On the subject of witches. Has anyone read this book by Rosalyn Schonzer - "Witches - Absolutely True tale Of The Disaster In Salem". http://www.amazon.com/Witches-Absolutely-Disaster-Salem-ebook/dp/B004J4X2YE/ref=sr_1_sc_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1380726700&sr=1-1-spell&keywords=rosalyn+schonzer While visiting my Aunt in Maine a few weeks ago she told me that her great, great, great, and so on, grandfather from year 1600 was accused of being a witch and was hung in Salem when a judge found him guilty. He is listed on page 60, 61, 92, 94, and 96 in the book. I haven't read the book yet but my aunt showed me her book. There is more to this story but no one would believe it if I posted it. Athena Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 (edited) When it comes to that scene i remember, does it actually happen that way or does he just listen through a door or something instead? Again thank you SO MUCH! x As far as I remember, he hides behind some kind of a screen-door in the room. It's a great book, one of my favourite Roald Dahl books. Wow muggle, that's pretty extraordinary! Edited October 3, 2013 by Athena Quote
