Thank You :) You are realy kind! I am new here so i have to learn now how I can talk and read topics on this forum.

On my polish studies I read a lot of classic literature but not many from UK. Now I try read something from classic british literature... Of course not in english because I am on a basic level in this language ;/ "The Magus" (John Fowles) is a good choice I think. Is it?

Maybe reading the rules and guidelines will help you with that :)  I remember doing the same at first before I started posting. It's a big forum and it was a lot to handle! :)  But you'll learn it all soon enough, don't worry!

I have the book but I haven't read it yet. I have a feeling it will be a great read, though. I hope you like it, I'm looking forward to your thoughts on it :)

About book...

John Fowles very likes in his books a complicated relationship between people (between man and woman, between friends, between neighbors, between parents and kids).  All relationship in a Fowles books are difficult. That’s why I like his novel.  Moreover, he always refers to other classic literary works of the famous writers or philosophers in his novels. You need to know something about literature, philosophy and science before you take

a Fowles book.

The Magus is multiple. I am in a half. It is not a easy novel, but it draws. When I finish read it, I will write more... :)

Hi Paulina :welcomeboard:

I've never heard of 'The Magus' before but I just looked at a description and it sounds really good! Looking forward to seeing what you think of it.

Hi Paulina :).

If you're looking for good British classics I would recommend Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Dracula by Bram Stoker, 1984 by George Orwell, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, Heart of Darkness by Joesph Conrad, and Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. These are the classics I personally have most enjoyed reading. :)

I read 'Jane Eyre'! Beautiful!!! I have to read this one again :D

'1984' by G.Orwell I read to...The 'Animal Farm' I read when I was 14.

Joseph Conrad was a Polish autor so I know 'Heart of Darkness' by heart (Is this sentence correct??? )

:)))

I realy thank You for your suggestions!!! :) I will try to read 'Dracula' and 'Gulliver's Travel'. I just know these stories but I don't read them yet.

It is a lovely book with a lovely story. I don't usually like these sort of books but I though this one was . . . well, lovely. :D

I forgot Conrad was a Polish author! And your sentence was fine, by the way. :)

Dracula is a bit different than you might expect. It's written as a collection of letters, newspaper articles and diary entries. This can make it either more difficult or more interesting to read, depending on personal preference. Personally, I love it. :)

I love Jane Eyre! It's one of my favourite classic books.

I didn't know Dracula was like that, I'll have to keep it in mind when I get around to reading it. It should be interesting, at least.

I like it that he discusses literature and philosophy in his book, it makes it more intriguing. Although I'm not very good at philosophy... I might have to google some of the things :giggle2:

Have you read The Collector by him? That was creepy! But good :)
