I'm not sure if anyone can help me with this. Clearly I'm being dense, but I can't work it out.  :(

I got an 'Amazon Kindle Voucher' as a present.   I added this tonight and it's added the total (£25) to my existing 'normal gift card' balance.  (I realise Amazon can't differentiate between a Kindle purchase and a non-Kindle purchase!).

Now, I've bought Kindle books recently and it's taken the money from my registered debit card, not my gift card balance.   I don't know how to change this, as I don't want to pay for the books when I have money already on my Amazon account - but despite reading the instructions a few times, I don't understand how to ensure that Kindle purchases come from the balance and not from my bank account.

I haven't had one for ages, but I'm sure I had to do something extra. Looking through the help, have you seen this page - http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=hp_left_sib?ie=UTF8&nodeId=200727540 looking at the section "Using Gift Certificates for Kindle Purchases" it might be something to do with your 1-Click settings.

That's the page I've read, but I can't see any settings that aren't... well, set up already, but the voucher I already added on my birthday hasn't reduced in value with my Kindle purchases since May!

There's a 99p book I want, so I'll go and add that and see what happens...

When you get to check out does it give you an option for payment method? When I have a gift card on my account it usually selects that first and asks if I would like to use the gift card balance.. I don't use one-click as just no room for error.

I didn't realise you could buy Kindle books without using 1-Click - I've switched it off for all other purchases.  :)

I don't know what I did (well, I didn't do anything!) but the 99p book I bought last night has come off my gift card balance, so I don't know why the last one didn't, but at least it appears to be working now.

Thanks, guys.  :)
