NickB Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I just recently finished the Millennium trilogy (The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo etc.) and I miss the characters already! Are there any series similar I can read? And what do you normally do after reading a trilogy or series of books, it's the first full series I've actually read and coming to the end is quite sad! paperplane Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 The exact same thing happened to me when I finished this series! When I looked for similar books the author Jo Nesbo kept coming up although I haven't read any of them. Quote
chaliepud Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 Take a look on.... http://www.literature-map.com/stieg+larsson.html Hope it helps! Quote
vodkafan Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 That was kind of weird chaliepud! Does the system work for anybody who has read some of the nearest names, who can verify? Quote
emelee Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 That literature map missed one IMO very important series. The Martin Beck series by Maj Sjöwall & Per Wahlöö. That series is (again IMO) the best crime fiction series. Many say it is the role model and inspiration for the nordic crime fiction expolosion. Just keep in mind that it was written in the 1960s, and doesn't have cool gadgets and cyber related stuff. And no female protagonists who kicks ass. Just plain police officers with every day problems. If you want a female protagonist who isn't a police officer, than Camilla Läckberg's Fjällbacka series could work. I've only read The stonecutter & The angel maker - but both were really good. There are also the Wallander series by Henning Mankell, Leif GW Persson's crime fiction, Åke Edwardssons Winter series.......... Quote
