~ Erin's Book Blog 2013 ~

Below are the books I've read in 2013. My goal this year is to read at least five books a season.

~ Books I've read are rated out of five.

~ Books I re-read are marked (RR)

~ Books I read for the Rory Gilmore Challenge are in pink.

My Rating System

1 - Awful! If I didn't have such respect for books, I'd have thrown it at the wall!

2 - Annoying. Wouldn't recommend this.

3 - Average. Didn't sway me one way or another.

4 - Enjoyable. Would definitely recommend it to others.

5 - Excellent! Didn't want to put it down!

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest by Stieg Larsson

Synopsis:

In the concluding volume of Stieg Larsson's Millennium trilogy, Lisbeth Salander lies in critical condition in a Swedish hospital, a bullet in her head.

But she's fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she'll stand trial for three murders. With the help of Mikael Blomkvist, she'll need to identify those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she'll seek revenge—against the man who tried to killer her and against the corrupt government institutions that nearly destroyed her life.

I've read these and they are amongst my favorite books! I love your TBR, you have so many amazing reads ahead of you, and you also have a lot of books that are on my wishlist (not very surprisinly a lot of them are from the Rory list). I almost wish we could swap TBR lists :D

Good luck with your reading for the year. You have quite a few books on your TBR that I've read recently and the best of these would be The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. It's one of my favourite books of all time.

Erin

You have some good books lined up there so you should have a good year of reading .

Thorn Birds - outstanding

Isabelle Allende writes beautiful books

Mark Twain, the same, he can't write BAD books

East of Eden -Terrific

Grapes of Wrath-equally terrific, but odd ending

David sedaris could make a dead person laugh

Wally Lamb-both you have listed are great

Both Hosseini books are great

You have an oustanding lineup!

So many good books on your TBR, but these jump out at me as being excellent!

American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld

Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld

So pleased to see someone else reading Sittenfeld (I know poppyshake is reading American Wife at the moment)

The Laura Ingalls Wilder books

I'm thinking of re-reading these at some point. I read them when I was little, and again about 15 years ago, but they've been cropping up in a few places recently, and they're back on my radar again now :D

And these are all marvellous:

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer

Girl with the Pearl Earring by Tracy Chevalier

Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

A Room with a View by E. M. Forster
