carm Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 This is such a wonderful book that I recommend with all my heart. It's a story of a young woman who's hard a tough life but has a gift in instinctively knowing what flowers mean and the most appropriate flower for any situation. It's just a wonderfully written beautiful book Quote
Chrissy Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 This has just gone to the top of my wishlist ~ it looks like a lovely read. Quote
carm Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Hi Chrissy you won't be disappointed. If you are I'll have to swim across the pond where you can flog me with a wet noodle Quote
Peahen Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 I loved the descriptions of the flowers and how the symbolism then integrated into the lives of the customers at the florist. It was a beautiful and touching read. I think too I particularly enjoyed reading it as I had been planning my wedding at the time and my head was full of flowers and arrangements and there was a simplicity yet depth to their meaning in this novel. alex_laramie Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I've just finished reading this one. I really enjoyed it. I like the fact that it tells her story from two different times in her life, it builds up the significance of everything that's happening and really sucked me in! Quote
Athena Posted February 26, 2013 Posted February 26, 2013 (edited) I wasn't quite sure about this book so I haven't bought it yet. Judging by the posts here though, maybe I should add it to my wishlist again XD. EDIT: Hmm apparently I had already done so. I normally have a pretty good memory but lately it's been a bit confused at times! Edited February 26, 2013 by Athena Quote
tinatar Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I bought this cheap when Amazon kindle were doing 12 days of Christmas and now reading people's reviews is making me ashamed I haven't read it yet! Quote
Booknutt Posted March 12, 2013 Posted March 12, 2013 I'll keep watch for this novel myself - thanks for posting on it, Carm. There's also "The Flower Reader" a historical novel which might interest a few of you. Our heroine in that actually reads the future from the language of flowers. So between both, the next time someone special buys you a bouquet you'll know what he's saying! .. Quote
carm Posted March 12, 2013 Author Posted March 12, 2013 You're welcome booknutt I absolutely positively love this book and I glad other people are enjoying it as well Quote
