sib Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 This is about a plot to bring about anarchy and revolution in the UK by a criminal mastermind and his associates, and the race against time for the good guys to find Jane Finn - the missing link in the puzzle - and secure the sensitive treaty that threatens to spark all the trouble. Set in the twenties, this reads a bit like a grown-up secret seven adventure, with characters Tommy and Tuppence looking for adventure and becoming embroiled in the intrigue. I had an inkling who the master criminal was going to be quite early on in the book, but it keeps you guessing because there are a few twists and turns and you don´t really know for sure until the end. I thought it was quite good. 7 and a half out of 10. Quote
Louiseog Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 Tommy and Tuppence are my favourite Agatha Christies, By the Pricking of my Thumbs is great - there was a recent TV adaptation of it but not as good. Quote
sib Posted May 5, 2007 Author Posted May 5, 2007 Ah, right, I might try that one then, thanks. I´m reading Five Little Pigs, a Poirot one, at the moment. Quote
bree Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 Just read this (again) and enjoyed it. Not one of her best plots though, but I do love Tommy and Tuppence - and this being their first book - makes it special. Quote
