Little Ms Stitch Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Good afternoon everyone My name’s Vicki and I’m a book addict...! I’ve just recently stumbled across this amazing forum and decided to join so that I can share my love of books with others – I think I’m starting to drive my family and friends crazy by constantly telling them about the latest book that I’ve discovered. I’m 29 and married with a wonderful little 18 month old son who has inherited his mummy’s love of books. We go to the library every week – in fact, the head librarian now recognises my son and has given him a couple of free books! I’ll quite happily give most books a chance although my favourite genre is crime. A few of my favourite authors are: Lee Child Jasper Fforde Margaret Atwood Patricia Cornwell Ngaio Marsh Suzanne Collins M.C. Beaton I’m really looking forward to getting to know everyone and discovering some wonderful new books. Vicki x Quote
chesilbeach Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Welcome to BCF Vicki! I'm not a big reader of crime fiction, but I love Jasper Fforde and M. C. Beaton too. Quote

frankie Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Hello Vicki and welcome to the forum! I see you like Patricia Cornwell, coincidentally I'm re-reading her novels at the moment. Have you read anything by Kathy Reichs? She's a bit similar to Cornwell, but I like her better. If you need new thriller / crime novel recommendations, I'd say go for Karin Slaughter and Jeffery Deaver. That is if you haven't read them already! Quote
Little Ms Stitch Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Hi Frankie I've read the first in Kathy Reichs' "Bones" series (can't for the life of me think what it's called) - we have the next book somewhere in the one of the many bookcases....I just have to find it. Re Cornwell - I just tried reading The Scarpetta Factor but after three chapters, I just stopped reading. I just couldn't get into it as it just felt like every character has been infected with a miserable virus I'll look at your recommedations though - thanks Quote
