I was very lucky to get an iPad for my birthday and it's great for accessing BCF, my only gripe is that I cannot use emoticons, do any other iPad users know if I can download an app maybe to help with this?

I think it's because the options bar where bold, italic, underscore, emoticons etc are when posting on a computer are flash or java run. There are browsers that emulate that you can download such as Photon but in my experience they are such a pain in the backside to use the are not worth the effort or the cost. Photon in particular seems to stream the content from a server onto a clickable video screen, its very buggy, slow and often doesn't work in the way it should.

You could give SkyFire a go, it used to be a free download and worked ok. If it's still free to download you've got nothing to lose. Otherwise its a case of waiting for iPB to release an update for it (could take forever) or apple to embrace java/flash (ain't happening). There is always the option of learning the text shortcuts for the one you use most often.

I have noticed that too, it's why I use the same emoticons all the time - because I remember what to type! :giggle:

I was hoping to make some sort of list with a picture of the emoticons and what text they use next to it (on pc), but there are so many.

I mainly post on iPad and I only use the basic emoticons because they're all I can remember ;)

The other issue is if I have a really long post (my countries list in the around the world challenge) it won't let me edit the bottom bit without deleting enough of the post so that the bottom bit comes up to the top (sorry, that is so badly worded but my brain is mushy today). I have to use the computer to edit it properly. However, that is probably the very definition of a first world problem, so I've learned to cope with it.

Are you using the browser or the IP.Board app to access the forum, chaliepud? I use the browser, but I rarely post from my iPad, so I've never bothered downloading the app, but perhaps it might have a better interface for posting?

I just got a Cyclone Astra pad, so I'll be checking out the forum on that once I've had a chance ot play with it and familiarise myself with it.
