Looking for a good satire/social commentary novel

I haven't read 'Blind Faith' but you can't beat a bit of Ben Elton for satire. -

It looks and sounds very magical, and of course, has brought back lovely childhood memories about the book and film.

Oh yay! Somebody else who's heard of the film! I'm gutted that I can't get it on DVD. I also have a VHS version, mine is off the telly, but it's old and poor quality. I always wanted to go to Samson. It's uninhabited in the book too I think.

I'm Cornish though, so it's easier for me than for most. Are you familiar with Michael Morpurgo? He wrote a children's book set there ('Why the Whales Came') that I just adored.

Gorgeous. I particularly like the sunset ones. I've always wanted to go to The Isles of Scilly but never made it.
