Memoirs Of A Geisha has a very stunning cover, when I first saw it, it drew me towards to book, I know you shouldn't judge a book by the cover but after I read the description on the back I had to buy it, and I don't regret spending a penny :)

I've always loved the cover of this book, it's so beautiful and mythical, it's covers like these that feed me inspiration for artwork :)

  2. Hello Kennedy! :welcome2: Always good to have a new book lover join in our chats and rambles

Oooh yes rambling is always fantastic. It would be amazing, I don't really have that many bookworm friends so it'ld be nice to have a good chat :D

That's an interesting name. Is it common in the UK?

    Hello and welcome. :)

    thank you :)

It's quite an unusual name actually, most people only have 'Kennedy' as their last names. So I'm sorta one of a kind! :D

Hello Kennedy, :balloons:Welcome!! sounds like you're going to fit in here just fine :D Look forward to seeing you around.

thank you very much, I hope to see you around too, everyone seems soo friendly, it's really nice.

Hello Kennedy and welcome. I may have to find something else to call you because my boss has the same surname as your first name and, frankly, I want to keep BCF and work separate (except for those times, like now, when I'm using the forum at work :giggle2:).

Haha, you can call me 'May' (my middle name), Most of my friends use that :)

hello....you found a great place to live if you love books.....hope you settle in.

I like living here, I'm surrounded by people who love books as much as I do, it's heaven :)

  3. I'm starting to think Hamlet is part skunk. Its hard to get a good picture of him because he's so twitchy. :)

    He's soo adorable. Beautiful markings!

Kennedy, that first photo made me :giggle: and the last photo of the two of them is adorable!

Abby, Hamlet is sooo cute. He looks like a little ball of fluff!

I was taking rubbish out to the bin on the weekend and Jasper snuck out the door behind me. So far he's only been outside on a leash or with me holding him, so I decided to let him have free reign of the courtyard while I dumped my rubbish. Luckily I had pulled up my lily plants, which are apparently lethal to cats, the day before. In the 5 seconds I had my back turned, he managed to find a little baby skink and was pouncing on it repeatedly before I managed to grab him (the lizard seemed none the worse for wear - he will probably be suffering PTD for a while, though). I'm reminded why he's an indoor cat - I don't like seeing him going after other creatures!

    thank you :)

Aww sounds like you have your hands full with the cat, their adorbale creatures :)

I'm the same Kylie, when Dylan used to go outside, (we lived in Belfast at the time)he killed a bird, I couldn't look at him!

Too cute kennedy, I hope Levi feels better, I love how social rats are, its amazing :)

They maybe too cute but their very mischievous :P thank you, I hope so too, I can;t stand the thought of an anaimal being ill, no matter how small they are :)

I love your Hamlet Abby, he's so cute! :)

  4. Just wanted to say a HUGE hello to fellow book lovers. My name is Kennedy and I'm 21 from the East midlands in the UK. I've been a bookworm since a very young age and love to dissapear into a book and enter a world that is not my own :)

I love Fantasy/Romance/Fictional....all that jazz really but I'm open minded to all other Genres and will give them all ago :).

    Hope everyone is well :)

  5. I have two 'Dumbo rats' called Spider (Black) and Levi (White/Grey). They are soo comical to watch and are always making me and my friends laugh, especially when Levi is always sneaking off my shoulder to drink out of my mug of tea! Sadly Levi has respiratory problems at the moment and has been on anti-biotics for the past two weeks, but slowly and surely he's recovering and his sneezing is slowing down :)

  6. Theres many pros and cons but I don't think there will be an end. I mean I love to get a new book and be able to hold it phsyically and open it up onto the first page for the first time, it's magical!

I was brought a Kindle as a gift a few months ago and I hated the thought of it at first because I love my physical books but since three weeks ago I'm finding it more convenient due to my HUGE stack of books in my room and with a Kindle I can pile thousands of books onto it without losing more of my bedroom. The typeface can be enlarged whereas in a book each typface is a different size some even on the very small side and it can be quite a pain in the bum.

But I still order my 'real books', it's so nice to have as you don't have to recharge a book after three months and scrabble around looking for it's charger. :)
