Marley and Me, I cried!

For me, its like escaping into another world, its fantastic to share in the authors thoughts and the insight into their imagination!
I agree, I love escaping into my own little world. I do tend to become attached to characters though especially in series of books.
-
Unless I'm looking for something specific, I often pick up books that are pre-owned as long as they are in a moderate condition, I don't have a problem with it. In fact I went into a well known book store the other day and they had books in the sale that were in a worse condition than the second hand ones I had bought, and they were dearer!!

Hello I haven't been here for a while, but I have been busy reading! I finally got round to finishing "Sense and Sensibility".
Read the first two books of the True Blood series by Charlaine Harris and I'm about three chapters into "The Shining" by Stephen King.
-
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.
-
I'm loving the series, Matt Smith had really grown on me. I don't mind the break so much as it gives me a chance to get my head around everything that has happened so far.
I did find the ending a bit obvious this week though, as soon as I saw the name Melody Pond I knew who she was going to grow up to be!!
-
I'm British and I have no idea what the titles mean either!
Thanks Kell for the explanation!

Just been to watch Rio with my nephew, bit predictable but still enjoyable to watch. Kept him quiet for a while anyway
-
I read magazines like Take A Break and Chat, but only because my Mum buys them religiously every week, it's the only reading she does to be honest.
I used to buy a lot of magazines on TV/Film, crafts and music but I found them quite expensive for what they are, and that most of the stuff that was in them like interviews and reviews can be found online. I would rather spend my money and time on books, where I can sink into my own little world for a while.
-
Fast and Furious 5, I enjoyed it more than I was expecting. Especially as I haven't seen any of the others!
-
Second episode was one of the best the 11th Doctor has had. Hilarious, action packed, jam packed with epic quotes. Absolutely LOVED every second of it.
Although I still don't really have a clue what's going on lol
-
I stopped reading after I left college, but a holiday a few years ago re-ignited my passion as there was not a lot else to do and I haven't stopped reading since!!
Try to find something that hooks you from page one!! good luck hope you start reading again soon
-
Just watched Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows part 1, epic!! looking forward to part 2!

An ice cold cider

Watched an old film yesterday called Hans Christian Anderson, it was OK, nice for a Sunday afternoon.
-
I don't tend to scare easily, but "Let the Right one in" did disturb me in some parts.
I read Pet Cemetery by Stephen King a few years back and recall that being slightly creepy too. I haven't ever actually read IT or Salem's Lot but they are on my rather long TBR list!
-
I've read this book about a month back, and I agree that some parts were a bit disturbing, but I still found it an enjoyable and interesting read. I really like the horror/vampire genre of books, but this was different from anything I'd read before a real page turner!

Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist
I found this slightly disturbing in parts.
-
I agree, great review!!
I read that book a couple of months back, and really enjoyed it! I'm not really a fan of crime books, but I did like the way this was written and I thought the ending was great too!!
-
I'm just about to watch the concluding episode to Lost season 2!! Hope my friend is finished with season 3 soon, it gets curious and curiouser!!

Carrie. Never read the book so I can't really compare. Enjoyed the film though.
