  1. I've finished this book some time ago and the only thing I was unsatisfied with is the end. It's not that I didn't like it. It's just that there was a day missing to me. There should have been something about how she woke up after that last day. Just to see if there was a happy end for her or not.

I also loved the book but was disappointed with the end not knowing whether her memory returned for good. I am going to believe it did as I prefer 'happy endings'.

  2. Was devastated to hear this. Even if you subscribe to Sky you would still need to pay extra for Sky Sports to see it. Unfortunately I don't even have sky only have freeview. I have been a fan and been watching it ever since they televised it live ( how many years that is I would nt like to count :D ).

The news turned my good day into a bad one.....sigh.

  3. A great day of tennis yesterday despite the rain. The match between KimiKo and Venus was terrific and worthy of the standing ovation it received.

So glad Andy won but I am not sure he is looking like 'Championship material' yet.

It was also good to see the British girls, I felt sorry for Heather when she got her injury as she was looking good and well done to Laura , a deserving win.

  4. Looking forward to Wimbledon starting today. Hope that not too much rain falls to spoil it. Would n't it be nice if we had a British Champion this year. Go Andy go, wishing you Good Luck for the tournament.

  5. Well I really did enjoy the qualifying today and look forward to the race. Pleased to see Lewis and Jenson well placed, lets hope it continues throughout the race.

  6. Hurrah, the season is up and running, Does a little jig round the lounge :D.

Jenson and Lewis looking good in practice, lets hope it carries on throughout the weekend.

Looks like a fascinating season with new tyres and new rules, hopefully there will be more overtaking.

Anyway looking forward to the weekend.

  7. I have quite a few books on my 'Kindle for PC' thing. Does anyone know how to transfer them to the Kindle?

    Glad of any advice

To transfer content to your Kindle.

    1. Connect the USB cable to the Kindle and your computer

    2. Your Kindle should appear on your computer in the same location you would normally find an external USB drive

    3. Open your Kindle drive. You should see a folder entitled 'documents.'

    4. Transfer the downloaded files into the 'documents' folder of your Kindle. (Drag and Drop) ( Or copy, which is how I do it.)

    5. Using your computer, eject your Kindle from your computer. The content you transferred should now appear in Home.

When you transfer a book to the Kindle it will start indexing it (Basically logging all the words for Search purposes, plus noting things like date added, title, author's name) This doesn't take very long with one book, but if you download a large number in one go it will drain the battery quite quickly so don't be surprised if you see that happen. Also, while doing the indexing your Kindle may react more slowly to keyed commands. You may need to be a little patient. People often complain that their Kindle has locked up during this process, but that's invariably due to them pressing key after key without waiting for the Kindle to react.

    Hope this helps

  8. I am looking fotward to the DVD being released, as it is a film I really want to see. I don't remember King George but I do remember the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth and my parents talking about the 'King who could n't speak properly'. ( In their ignorance, bless them .)

I feel this story is probably better portrayed as a film than a book but I may be wrong.

Great to see a British film do so well at the Oscars.

  9. I am really looking forward to the new season starting.

As a Brit I will be shouting for Lewis and Jenson although it does look as if their cars are not so good at the moment.

I will also be following the progress of the Scottish lad, Paul Di Resta with Force India. and I really hope he has a good first season.

I am not a fan of Alonso and really hope he does n't ' walk away with it ', that would be so boring.

Oh well, all will be revealed soon. Lets hope for an exciting season.

  10. Just finished listening to this, got it as an audio book for my kindle. A great book I was able to imerse myself in. One I will always remember. So sad that the black community was treated so badly by most, but so pleased that things have now changed and will hopefully continue to do so.

    Fantastic, brilliant book.

  11. I understand from the discussions on Amazon forums that this appears to be caused by the non-lighted cases. Apparently they clip onto the kindle and are causing the cracking. Amazon customer services are replacing them without any problems. Also these cases seem to be causing battery problems as well, and some other problems.

I do have mine in a cover but purchased it from ebay. They fit a diiferent way and do not have the clips. Cheaper as well but just as good.

Unless you have the official Amazon non lighted case I would n't worry too much, but if you experience any sort of problems ( cover or not) contact customer services straight away.

    Hope this helps.

  12. I'm rather excited about getting my Kindle for Christmas this year! :D

Having already known I'll be getting one, I've downloaded Kindle for PC and already purchased numerous books and compiling a collection ready to start the year as I mean to go on...

I am sure you will really enjoy your Kindle, I have had mine a few months and would n't be without it now. Its all positive. I also use it to listen to audio books on. Good for listenong to in bed. Very easy to set it up for downloading audio books via your computer. then onto the Kindle, Good piece of kit and well worth the money :D
