Without a doubt this is my favourite book. It has such resonance in these times that its almost prophetic in some of its predictions. Wonderfully wrote, Orwell creates a world that is disturbing and fearsome. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I'm a big fan of Lord Of The Rings and The Hobbit. I've only read one of the Harry Potter series though - I had no patience so I've read Deathly Hallows. I know, I know, shame on me. To my unbelievable shame, I have never read a Discworld novel. I know I should, but never actually gotten around to it. I do, however, love Good Omens by Neil Gaiman, wonderful stuff. My girlfriend has read the Trudi Canavan Magician's Apprentice Trilogy, and says its wonderful. Once I've got through my current one, I'll be heading to them I think.

I used to be a massive fan of Stephen King, but just haven't read any of his in a long, long time. My favourite would definitely be Misery, the book is so vivid, so claustrophobic. I love Firestarter, The Stand, and Carrie. I may have to invest in Under The Dome once I've got thru my TBR pile.

Hi all, I'm new here (/wave) and hoping that someone can help me remember a book I read a long time. I read it in 1987 / 1988, and I remember it had a black cover with red writing. Sadly, I do not remember the title or the author's name. It was a horror story about a woman moving to a small town USA, I think after a divorce. She made friends with a group of women, and one night, as you do, they decide to do a summoning in the basement of a house. They succeed, although they do not realise it, and the demon 'infects' one of them, taking over their body. The demon has to transfer bodies, and can only do this through sex, which is described pretty vividly as I remember. The original hosts are killed brutally during this. That's all I remember unfortunately. I would love to read it again, so any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you. CrazyBlade
