  1. Roman Holiday

That is one of my favorite movies, I love Audrey Hepburn!

Watched 'The Wrestler' last night. Really, really enjoyed it. Roarke was excellent.

I was pleasantly surprised with The Wrestler. I'm not a big fan of the sport so I thought the movie would be awful but it was really good.

I watched Ballet Shoes last night which was cute.

  2. Today I learnt that there are too many viewpoints and essays/articles written about Harry Potter (as I have to analyse a few critical articles for my Children's Literature assignment )

There is actually a college course offered (can't remember which college though) on the Science of Harry Potter. Sad?

Today I learned that if you leave it up to the males of the house to buy more tp, then you find yourself at the store soon after encountering an empty roll in the bathroom.

  3. I didn't like Atonement when I watched it. Maybe that's because my boyfriend has a very narrow taste in movies and made condescending comments throughout. I should watch it again by myself one of these days.

    I watched Serendipity this morning.

  4. I wouldn't mind borrowing several ipods here!

  5. In the right hands literature containing racism can be good. It could be a great teaching tool against racism. Unfortunately there is the other half of things where it is so public and that anyone can get a hold of it at any time. And the majority of the time these people get to read it unsupervised and aren't given the chance to discuss what they read and the impact it might have. This happens with a lot of things, not just books with racist themes. It falls to the parents and teachers to make sure that when and if this literature falls into the hands of young minds that it teaches them right from wrong.

I don't think it should be banned. First of all there is the right to free speech. But I think it helps people see what racism is like and the damage it can do. I think it could do more good then bad. And besides, when things like this are banned, it is just one more way to control the general populace and not in a good way.

Hope this makes some sort of sense and I'm not just ranting unintelligibly.

  6. Yay for more Grey's watchers! My roommie who I watched the show with has moved on in life and no longer watches so I've missed bouncing off comments and thoughts about the show. As I'm in America I get to watch the shows soonest which is nice. Can you use the abc website? ABC is the channel it airs on and the website has the recent episodes. The show airs on Thursday night and they put that episode up the next day. http://abc.go.com/

  7. Hello Lynn and welcome to the forum! I used to read a lot of horror books but grew out of that genre. As I was in high school at the time I was a big fan of Christopher Pike though he isn't all that horrifying really  I wouldn't mind picking up another horror book and as I've never (yeah, I know) read anything by Stephen King he will probably be the first on my list.

  8. Hmmm a dinner party...

I would want Audrey Hepburn for her class, Danny Kaye for his infectious personality, my Great Grandma because I met her but as I was just an infant I can't remember her.

I think also a separate dinner party with Simon Cowell and Dr. House (played by Hugh Laurie) would be hilarious. I can't imagine them getting along in the slightest.
