I have to agree with Nicola, I really struggled to get through Nine Dragons, wasn't as good as all his previous books but I would still buy his latest novel if it had Bosch in it. I did love The Lincoln Lawyer, which isn't a Harry Bosch book, but does feature him.

Did you enjoy it? Face of Death, The Darker Side and Abandoned are his other books.

I have just finished reading Cody McFadyens books and I think they are brilliant. He's just got a new one on release just now so I am patiently waiting on that from the library.
Just a heads up for those of you who haven't heard of him and enjoy a good crime book

I have read most of his books apart from Kiss of Evil and Deviant Way. I have started Kiss of Evil but I am finding it very hard to get into. Also, I didn't like The Devil's Garden, thought it was a bit too out there compared to his previous novels. I did really enjoy his other books though.

I've also tried to read Martina Cole but found her books really difficult to get into so I eventually gave up. She's definitely not one of the best authors around, but other readers seem to enjoy her books. Each to their own

All of Lisa Gardners books are really good. Mark Billingham's books are also good and centre around the main character of Tom Thorne. I don't really read books that are set in the UK and Mark Billingham is the only author I like who writes in England. Michael Connelly writes well too and I love his Harry Bosch novel series. I love Harlen Coben, Jeffrey Deaver and Robert Crais and have read every single one of their books and always pre-order their next novels. These books maybe aren't dark thrillers, but I love the characters in them and can never wait until the next one comes out.
All-time favorite mystery/crime/thriller novel?

I love all the Jeffrey Deaver books, but the Lincoln Rhyme books are my favourites
