In no order:
1. The Stand by Stephen King. It's just so good!
2. Slaughterhouse 5. It's just so funny!
3. 1984. Probably the book I most think everyone should read.
4. Darkness at Noon. If you know your history a bit, it's similar to 1984.
5. Lord of the Rings.

There MUST be one around here but I can't find it, I've read through the pages and used the search. Can someone link it here, or if this thread is going to be deleted PM it me, thanks!
I just wanted to read up on the book and hear peoples opinions on it before I commence this long quest. It's one of them read before you go to heaven books.

I think it’s a great book, maybe because I am a young reader and can relate to it. I think it’s good because with every character I can think of someone similar in real life, especially Holden. This book reminds me of a few spoilt mates of mine who have been dragged through education after many failures with the cost of thousands paid by their parents. But a lot of the characters remind me of people who I know who are around the same age. Maybe people don’t like it because it reminds them of their self.

I don't like this book. I hate how women lived in the 18th century and before, as maids in houses, it's exactly like that. I also hate how women gossip to each other.
Where is the War and Peace thread?

Thanks for the quick reply. I imagined before I got onto the forum that it would be mostly people, like myself, wondering about it and not actually read it yet hehe.
