I was quite let down by this book. I had high hopes so I suppose that didn't help but compared to the last two Robert Langdon adventures this one was a bit dry.

Hello and welcome!
-
Me either, I can't waste reading time on something I don't enjoy.

This is my favourite book because it really opened up my eyes to great literature and depth in writing. I love the origin of how this story was conceived, I enjoyed the concept and the layers to this moving story.

Welcome! Hope you enjoy your time here! I'm also a Harry Potter nut.

Hi and welcome! I recommend 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins! It's also recommended by Stephen King & Stephanie Meyer, so couldn't hurt.

Very cool!

Hey Tim, I'm new too, but welcome!

Ah thats good to hear! I was worried it was a book that missed most people's radars so I'm glad to hear that. I think I read it in a few days and was so absorbed in the story! It was such a great concept and I'm eager to see what direction it takes next.

I am writing a book where the history of the characters and motivations are all to do with the second world war, involving Nazism and Judaism ... The hero is a Nazi and the heroine is a jewess - they fall in love against their better judgement. The consequences of their love affect their grandchildren and even great grandchildren. So it is a saga/romance with revenge and a slight supernatural/ghostly feel to it.
I also love Harry Potter and the Hobbit and the Chronicles of Narnia too.
Not sure if I've welcomed you sooo ... welcome! and if I have ... Welcome again!
That sounds great Suzanna, I'll look forward to hearing more about it! I'm currently writing about a WWII Hurricane pilot based on interviews I am having with him! I find that era of history amazing.

Has anyone read 'The Hunger Games' by Suzanne Collins? I read this book a few months ago and absolutely adored it. It's fast paced and very hard to put down! I believe the second book is out later this year and I can't wait!

I've read the first 3 books and really enjoyed them! It took me a little while to adapt to the style but they get addictive for sure.

Come on, after 15 years or so of reading DC comics who else am I going to say?

My wife absolutely LOVED this series, but I on the other hand found it a struggle to get through by the end. My favourite book of the bunch was 'New Moon' because I felt it was more emotionally driven than the others, maybe even a little darker. It was an entertaining series but crucial parts of it fell flat in my opinion, especially the action because there was so much build up to it, yet it always turned out to be a quick flurry. I feel Meyer spent far too much time on describing how beautiful Edward is and that for me became a drag. It

I'm going in a different direction here and saying Batman!

Hia and tot the forum. What types of books do you like?
Hi Lucy, thanks! Some of my favourite books include: Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, The Hobbit, Harry Potter, The Da Vinci code, Hamlet, Dr Faustus and history books, especially WWII aviation. I also read a lot of Comic books.
How about you?
Thanks everyone else for saying hi!

"Dad's Bug Bear" by Peter Dixon & Natalie Chivers is popular among the little people I know, but I'm not sure if it's too young for a 5 year old...

I'm 27, but I feel and probably act like I'm about 18. I'm dreading 30, which is creeping up on me.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys!

I play quite a bit of football and basketball, but as I get older it's a daily battle to keep at it. The TV and rest is too tempting...

Hi everyone, this looks like a great site! I'll have to look around a bit more to see what you've all been chatting about.
My name is Christopher Yeoman and I have recently written a book about a WWII Spitfire 'ace' called John Freeborn.
Thanks for having me!
