Yes, it is (or, was). The first of five books called Maximum Ride. About 6 children and teenagers with wings, trying to save their youngest sister (Angel), running away from the scientists that want to do experiments on them, trying to find their parents, and trying to save the world at the same time. I couldn't put it down
