  1. Definitely yum! haa!

I'm good! Just had a bit of a chocolate craving so baked a cake. A bit drastic but it'll be done in about 5 mins. I thought that not buying any cakes would mean that I wouldn't eat them!:blush: How are you?

I thought I'd already added you :) Wish we had the second series showing in the UK xx

  2. Eugh!!!!!!!! No way!!!!! I can't believe they would do that......he's just all wrong! :icon_eek::icon_eek::icon_eek:

Well I've been thinking that pay day is Monday.....HOWEVER!!!!!.......it's our Late Summer Bank Holiday on Monday therefore I'll get paid on Friday! Woooooop! I'm super happy now! :animal: (just discovered Animal!) I have about

  3. Frankie!! :D

How's everything with you? How's your Big Brother going? Hopefully no one's replicated the Kinga moment yet! Eeeek!

I've been away from the Forum for what seems like ages due to all the preparations for Ross' birthday. I've been making paperchains and strings of bunting by the dozen! Totally exhausted now (think my age is catching up with me! haa!!)

Anyway I thought I'd drop by to say hello :D Hope you're grand mrs! xx

  4. Frankie!!! I've finished Dexter!! There were just enough differences to make it seem like a fresh story. I'm thinking 9/10. I'm holding out for the 10/10 review it seems!!

This forum is so supportive isn't it. It seems like whenever anyone has a problem or needs encouragement, everyone is behind them. It's really nice!! Well the scales thing is fine. There was quite a few people at weightwatchers that would try really hard and not slip up all week and stay the same weight. They'd literally cry at the meetings but the following week they'd always lose weight and sometimes they'd lose 3 or 4 lb (I think the average was about 2lb a week) So I think you'll be fine :D

  5. Frankie!!!! I've finished 2nd after two days of constant work!!! Woooooop!!:D

How was the housewarming? The weather's been glorious over here too! Sooooooo lovely!

I thought Agent-Tattletale was quite apt for a book forum I still need to finish off adding books to it but the forums scare me slightly. There's so many people chatting about so many different topics.....intimidating stuff!

Ooooh I'm not sure about London pubs but Newcastle is notorious for its nightlife. We have about 5 or 6 different districts to go to and they're all really close so pub crawls are are the only way to do a night out. Local pubs stay open until about 11 - 11:30pm and then people go onto clubs. However, in the city centre there are a few pubs that stay open until 2 so they're a nice alternative to a nightclub. I'm more of pub person so that suits me perfectly!! :D

  6. Frankie!!!

I'm off to London tomorrow! Eeeeeeek! Super excited but slightly terrified at the size of the place. What if I get lost??!!:10_confused: I'll never be found again!

    Hope you're well :D

  7. Frankie!!

I'm good thanks! How are you? I'm glad your enjoying your summer and also glad you're back! It's been quiet around here :lurker:

I've been away for a few days to Whitby which is where Bram Stoker's Count Dracula turned up, causing mayhem on his way (I've not read the book myself but there's loads of tourist tat.....bats, fangs, fake blood )

I've also finished (eventually!!) Let The Right One In. I've finally found my 10/10!! Only kidding! Still have no idea what I think about it. The ending was really good but I'm not sure if it was worth reading the rest of the book to get there. Oskar's story is really good but the others aren't too great.

So what are you reading at the moment Miss Frankie? How's the health drive going? :D

  8. Friends came over last night and it was really hard to stick to the diet.....is socialising a hard part of healthy living for you too? Everyone was drinking cocktails and eating nibbles while I practically tied myself to a chair to resist temptation. Not fun! When/If I lose a stone I'm going to make a huge apple crumble with lashings of custard and I'm going to eat the whole thing!! haa!! I'll post photos of me covered in crumble on my profile!

Well apart from the temperamental weather in England, I personally can't see why people would need to travel abroad. Maybe to see totally different cultures like the far-east etc. But there's quite a lot to do and it's good for our economy for people to spend in this country. However, as I type this, the rain is thrashing against the windows and a week on the beach sounds amazing! There must be pretty cool places in Finland too....everywhere has something unique that appeals to visitors :D

  9. Haa! I'll buy the plane tickets now!! Imagine me just turning up on his doorstep "Erm hi Mr Gaiman. Just wondering, fancy getting hitched??" How could he refuse!! haa!!

I've got a module called The Future of Town Planning & we've been given a creative piece about a future urban utopia/distopia. I kind of have an idea to go on.

I'm going to write about a future where the world is governed by Disney. There's a town in Florida called Celebration which was built by Disney and everything is perfect. People are too happy, homes are too perfect, they even import snow on christmas day! It's probably a lot of peoples idea of utopia but when you look into it, homes can only be afforded by the rich, the residents aren't mixed & it's completely unrealistic.

I've got a good book about a couple who moved to celebration for a year and documented their time there. And then there's the hardcore uni texts :hide:

Maybe I could get Neil Gaiman to write it for me when we're married!! haa!!

  10. Haa!! I know!! Silly us!

Hope you're grand mrs! :D (I'm typing this on the sly while at work ....eeeeek!!)

  11. Haaa! I love pictures of clouds for some reason, especially clouds with sunlight piercing through. I've no idea why??!!

I've just noticed your Johnny Depp avatar....good choice!! What is it about him in eyeliner??! It just works!!

  12. Nicola

Haaa! Things are canny. I'm on the last leg of my dissertation and I must say, it's looking ok. My dissertation tutor (she's a professor called Jean Hillier and she conducts research on things that I can't even pronounce!!) says she was impressed by my draft. She's my idol (I get star struck by her!!!) so for her to say she was impressed was like David Bowie telling a budding songwriter that he enjoyed his verse

Apart from that I've just been eating, sleeping and getting wobbly through a lack of exercise

What about you? 'How's' everything going in your neck of the woods? :D

  13. Haaa! Yeah I think I'm getting there. I've never really posted on forums before so I'm still getting used to a few things but I now know how to quote only the relevant parts of a persons post so small victories and all that! I also told the entire forum how Harry Potter ended by accident....that was another fine moment!! haa!!

But everyone's really nice on here and my reading list has doubled so that's good! Although I'm starting to find that I spent more time reading about books than actually reading them!

    How are you?

  14. Haaa!! I grew up in a house of 3 women so I know exactly what that's like!! There'd be a week every month when we just wouldn't speak to each other!! haa!!

Well I'm off to the Netherlands on a field trip with uni on Sunday (my project is to compare regeneration in two different shopping locations in Utrecht.....I'm basically going to shop my socks off! haa! :D) So I'll buy The Coffin Dancer on Thursday and take it with me to read on the ferry and on coach trips. I should have it finished by the time I get back (hopefully!!) :-)

Oooooh have you read The Vampire Lestat yet? I'm really looking forward to it!! Heee!! We should definitely book club that too!! It'll be good to discuss it with someone who has also just finished reading it......that's when we're most enthusiastic about it!! :D:D:D

  15. Haaa!! Sergant Frankie indeed!! I'm up to chapter 11 now.......I didn't realise how unintelligent LaGuerta is!! It doesn't translate at all in the TV series.

Yeah Great Expectations! I was bought a box set of classics by a relative for my 10th (ish) birthday  Goodness knows why they thought that was a good present for a 10 year old  The set contained Great Expectations, A tale of two cites, Swiss Family Robinson, Treasure Island, Emma and others that I can't remember but not very child orientated books I think. But I loved Great Expectations because Pip starts out as a boy and I suppose it's a story of his growing up isn't it so it must have appealed to me.

I think that A Christmas Carol is amazing! I would definitely recommend that one. I've read the Pickwick Papers but didn't really enjoy it too much and Nicholas Nickleby is really good. I haven't really read a lot of Dickens.... maybe 5 books. I think I'd like to read more but they can be pretty heavy going can't they.

  16. Nicola

Haaa!! The man flu eh!! My boyfriend gets that too....it usually only lasts about 20 mins at a time which is quite unusual!

I always think it's good to take a couple of sick days each year....keeps them on their toes! :D Plus I really don't like my job so it's quite tempting!

So what have you been reading on your leisure days.....I mean 'sick' days! ;)

Hope you feel better soon :D

  17. Haaaa! Disney the monster! Well it's starting to look that way......Disney are ruthless!! Residents have gagging orders against them so if they ever want to leave the town they aren't allowed to say anything negative about the town to the press.

It's just weird!! It's my idea of a living nightmare!! Yack!!

So are you reading anything at the moment? Or are you reading about reading on this forum!! haa!! I keep reading posts about what people have been reading and wonder where they get the time as they're always posting!! haa!

  18. Haaaa! I'm glad that Glee has such a big following because otherwise, we'd have to hide our addictions to it!

Yeah.....I forgot that Chow was supposed to be all tattoos and muscle. Don't the books say that he serves behind the bar with his top off and has the patrons of Fangtasia drooling? I'm pretty sure Ken/Chow couldn't pull that look off! I was in Waterstone's at the Metro Centre and noticed the new covers of the Sookie Stackhouse books. Each one has a character from the TV show on the cover and guess who's on the cover of Dead To The World??? :exc: I've heavily hinted to my BF that the Valentines Fairy would want me to own that book!

Hope you're having good Saturday! (Only 2 more sleeps until Glee!! :D)

  19. Haaaa! Ross and his obsession with wallpaper! haa!

I love Jim's faces....they're amazing! Especially the one after Andy and the jello incident

Dwight is crazy isn't he!! Jim plays some pretty funny tricks on him from the new office. When you see the coffee one (I haven't given anything away :D) let me know.....it's possibly one of my favourite ever office scenes!

I'm so envious that you have all the episodes to come! I'd love to see them for the first time all over again :D Did you ever see the UK Office? They only did 2 seasons. They said that they didn't want to ruin a good thing and decided to go out on a high but then it went to America and it's now on Season 5? 6? I think it's mainly down to Steve Carrell though.....the British office manager was a one trick pony, so to speak, but it's still a great show. If you haven't seen it you really should :D

  20. Haaaa! Silly me!

When you get to 1000 posts you get to choose your own slogan :D It took me until post 1500 to think of something! Maybe I should have chosen "Settled In"

  21. Haaaaa.....I used to read the usual R L Stine horror book too but looking at this lot I didn't have a totally normal teenage book phase....think I'm going backwards actually. The first book I read on my own was Great Expectations (???!!) and then I read more Dickens and a fell in love with the classics. Now....at the grand old age of 28, I love Harry Potter and Twilight!! haa!!

Right.....I'm going to have a quick shower, put on my PJs and settle down with Dexter for the night :D The thought of extra long body blast sessions is terrifying! The woman who takes the class is a bully and really pushes you through. eeeek! I used to go twice a week but I've not had time for the last few months. I'm planning to go back in two weeks time and I'm not looking forward to it!!

How's your healthy lifestyle going? Hopefully well! :D

  22. Haaaaaa I know!! Poor Lestat indeed!

Think I might read a bit of Dexter tonight before bed just to get it started. I handed in two assignments this morning so I think I deserve the evening off. :D The woman who we have to hand our work into has such an attitude problem. I ran out of staples to fix my assignments together so asked her if I could borrow hers and she gave me the worst look EVER! The she said that in future I need to be prepared before handing it in.:motz:The thing is, I'm a mature student, so she's about 4 years younger than me...I feel like telling her off! She always gets really uptight if you touch her pen too and is really sharp with everyone most of the time.

Some people eh! Hope you're reading is going well! :D

  23. Nicola

Haaaaaa! Aye right! Imagine that?!

All the kids at uni are wearing Hunter wellies with pyjama bottoms tucked in :lol: Add an oversized hoody and tatty hair and you're the height of fashion!

  24. Happy Birthday Sari! :5birthday: xxx

Hope you're having a great day!

I forgot about the "Oh D! Oh D!" thing  The whole Andy/Angela/Dwight storyline is hilarious! We're up to Season 6 episode 11 or 12 at the moment and I always think that there can't be anything else for the makers of the show to cover but they always surprise me. Andy Really grows on you as the seasons progress. I take it you've seen the episode where he lost his temper? Oh and yeah, the newcomers from Stanford branch....ther part where the large guy is trying to get on top of the table is unbearable!!

I'm sure things will work out with your language exchange....positive thinking Miss Frankie! If you tell yourself it will happen and nothing will stop you, it'll happen :D I always think that if plans change or things appear to fall through, there's a reason for it and something better is going to come along.

Well have a great day! :D

  25. Have I been forgetting to use spoilers again? Or were you just reminding me?? Haa.....don't think I can take being told off by the Boss's again!!

Haaaaa!! That's a really funny idea! The Toyboy club!! haaa!!

So.....Coffin Dancer it is then! Oooooh I'm looking forward to it! The only problem being that the hostel I'm staying in is apparently really really old so I'm probably going to be a bit scared in the dark after reading about murders!!! haa!! What a scaredy cat eh!! I'll get my copy tomorrow and get reading!

I never thought about book shopping......That'd be really cool (but yes....very heavy!!) I can't wait to get away. I'm really stressed at home at the mo so it'll be nice to leave it all behind for a week! Do you have any trips planned this year? I would definitely recommend England but bring an umbrella!! haa!
