Might I suggest:
Adeline Yen Mah. She has a book about a Chinese cinderella "Falling Leaves" I think it's called.
Amy Tan's "The Kitchen God's Wife" is one of my favourites. Her book "The Joy Luck Club" is another I would recommend.
Ma Jian's "The Noodle Maker" and "Stick out Your Tongue".
"Red Azalea" and "Becoming Madame Mao" by Anchee Min.
Jung Chang's "Wild Swans".
"Balzac and The Little Chinese Seamstress" by Dai Saijia
"Shanghai Baby" by Wei Hui. Only one on this list I've not read but it has been highly recommended to me.
Hope this helps ~ Trish.[/quote/
I think i am going to try "falling leaves",thanks for the sugestion!

Lola-rose, whilst it's nice to see your enthusiasm, we already have reading circles going on, and even those have been recently re-organised, due to lack of response.
If there are a few of you reading the same book, by all means start a thread for it in here, but we won't be starting anything any more structured.
Ok ,I am going to join one .Thank's for letting me know.
Any sujestions on which one I should join?

How big is the writing on the screen though, like how many lines per page? I just have this vision of it only having like 5 words on the screen before you have to move it on. I can't get my head around how it works?
You turn the d.s onto it's side like you would hold a book and the text goes over both of the screens. Then you can pick your font size ,large or small. With the large text there is approx 7 lines on 1 screen and about 4 words to a line and with the small font there is about 5 word's to a line and 11 line's to one screen and that's just one screen obviously there are two screens of text. If you have any more question's just ask!

Well I defo love the characters in Twilight (especialy Edward) but in Harry Potter I love what happens - all the magic. Please help me decide. JK Rowling and Stephanie Meyer go head to head. as I am a teenager myself I would have to disagree , I think that we still read books as I'm forever in my local book shop or in the school library where plenty other children my age are!

I adore jacqueline wilson, she really connects with her target audience. My favourite book of hers is either my sister jodie or love lessons!
