  1. Ok, this has been annoying me for quite some time:

My boss ringing me on my blackberry first thing in the morning, so I ignore it and then he rings my telephone on the desk and he goes through to voicemail, but doesn't leave a message, then he rings my personal mobile, I don't answer it and he doesn't leave a message. When I ring back (after I've taken my coat off, got a coffee and sat down) I find out that it wasn't urgent he just wanted a chat.

  2. I've read both Howard's End and Room with a View, they are beautifully written and witty. I was actually introduced to these novels by my boyfriend, so I think both sexes can enjoy these books. The films are great too and I've watched them several times.

  3. 1 Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen

2 The Lord of the Rings - JRR Tolkien

3 Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte

4 Harry Potter series - JK Rowling

5 To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee

    6 The Bible -

7 Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte

    8 1984 - George Orwell

9 His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman

10 Great Expectations - Charles Dickens

    11 Little Women - Louisa M Alcott

    12 Tess of the D

  4. I finished reading this a couple of weeks ago. It was very easy to read and as many of you have already mentioned - certain parts shocked me. I also had trouble placing the events and like Ravenwood I researched the island to find out the exact details. The additional research aided my enjoyment of the book. The author captures the prejudices of the time and also the horrors of war extremely well.

  5. I bought an e-reader about two months ago from Waterstones. I love it. I travel a great deal and like the fact that it's lighter to carry around. I have also managed to download pdf documents for work purposes... but I know that I will never want to give up my own little library at home :D

  6. I agree with Suzanne123, I read the book many years ago at school and it sparked my interest in tales of mystery and suspense. However, I also love the film directed by Hitchcock. This is one film which fulfilled my expectations and I've lost count of the number of times I've watched it (even my partner enjoys it).

  7. I'm reading Hide and Seek now (actually it's an audiobook) and I'm really enjoying it so far...actually stumbled across it by accident and I had seen the author recommended here.

I loved Hide and Seek, have tried any others by Patterson? Along Came the Spider is also great. :D

  9. Agree with The Reader and Janet, scallops are great, so long as not over done... the same can be send for calamari. I like snails, but have never tried frogs legs, and would like to find out whether they're anygood. I saw braised rabbit on the menu on Friday lunchtime, so had to try it - a bit gamey. I tried crocodile when in Cape Town. It was like a thin slice of salami, but fattier than I thought - Didn't like it much. Also had Springbok and Ostrich on that trip. When in Rome....
