  1. Lucky you've got friends who can help!

My quilt is patchwork, I've been taking a class to learn how to do it. I've got a thread called "Claire's Patchwork" in the Members Threads section which has photos of all blocks I've done so far, and I'll post some more at the end of the weekend (hopefully finished ).

  2. :Sorry to hear you've been poorly, and it sounds like you've been having a rough week all round. :friends0: Hopefully your weekend will get better! I'm busy sewing this weekend, desperately trying to finish my quilt, but will try and fit some reading in at some point as well. Glad to see you back :friends3:

  3. Hi Charm! Noticed you were online earlier, but didn't catch you. Haven't seen you around much lately, so hope you're okay. Hope you have a good Easter weekend. :friends0:

  4. Hi Paula. I'm good thanks, hope you're keeping well :friends0: My reading mojo has deserted me at the moment, so I won't join the book ring, but thanks for the offer. I think my OH might even have a copy of it somewhere, so I'll have a hunt round for it. Thanks for the offer though :smile2:

  5. Hey Gemz! How are you getting on with The Princess Diaries? I love Meg Cabot's writing - settling down with one of her books is like sitting in a cosy armchair with a mug of hot chocolate in front of the fire :D

  6. Hi pickle! Just popping in to say I've finished "The Carbon Diaries 2015" and posted a review in the Childrens/YA section and in my reading blog, if you want to have a look. I enjoyed it a lot :smile2:

  7. Hi! Saw this press release on the BBC website today and thought I'd let you know ... "Following the huge success of his first series, Russell Howard will be returning to BBC Three with two more helpings of his topical news show. Series one was the best performing studio-based entertainment show BBC Three has ever launched. Series two will hit our screens next month, with a third series planned for later this year."

  8. That's a good idea! I'm going to try and get some this afternoon, as I'm going to be trying my first bit of quilting, and the top of my index finger is already full of little nicks from the sewing needle, so need to try and prevent them getting too sore. I'll let you know how I get on.

  9. Hello! Hope you're well. Just popping in to say I've written a review of "Murder Most Fab" by Julian Clary in my reading blog and I remember you saying you'd be interested in my thoughts on it.

  10. Morning Paula :) I decided to start 'Moral Disorder' last night, and I've only read a couple of chapters so far, although I'm not convinced it's a going to be my cup of tea yet! Hope you're having a good weekend, Claire xxx

  11. Hi Paula, hope you don't mind me asking, but one of my reading group books this month is Moral Disorder by Margaret Atwood, and I found an old thread of yours (from 2007) where you had it listed as one to be read - did you ever read it, and if so, what did you think? Hope you're having a good weekend xxx

  12. Hi Charm and a very happy new year to you and yours! Let's hope we manage to find some great books to enjoy in 2010 after our successes of this year :smile2:

  13. Hi Ben, I'm good thanks. I picked up you message earlier, but was reading it on my phone and it was too tricky to type a reply, and only just remembered it now! I noticed you said you'd been poorly, so hope you're starting to feel a bit better now.

I'm loving all the Christmas threads that have started today - I'm starting to get the Christmas feeling now, and will be in full swing by the 1st Dec!

  14. I'm doing ok, thanks :)

The redhead is Karen Gillan, and she's going to the be new companion to Matt Smith's eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who. Yes, I'm a Doctor Who fangirl

  15. Hello libri. Let me know how you get on with the jazz pianists, and if you find any new ones, keep me updated! I'm always on the look out for new things to listen to. :smile2:

  16. I'm SO excited, I can't tell you! I've been busy updating my website and preparing for the first show all day, and I'm practically bouncing up and down in my seat now!

  17. Hey, just popping in to say hello, and I'm glad I've made you laugh - I always wanted to be a comedian ;) Anyway, hope you have a good evening :friends0:

  18. Just popping in to say thanks for your comments on my bookshelves! The cherub is a bit of a standing joke in our house - we have a small house and the cherub was a present from friends and although it's meant to be a decoration for Christmas, we don't have anywhere else to put it during the rest of the year, so it's permanently on display in the one space it would fit in to!

  19. Happy Birthday, Charm! :sign0072: Hope you have a lovely day :friends0:

  20. Thanks Paula, I'm good today thanks. Hope you're keeping well too :)

Don't worry about P&P & Zombies, I've got more than enough to keep me going for a while though  One of my friends was talking about getting it for when they go on holiday, so I can probably pinch it off them at some point if I want ;) Thanks for thinking of me though, love Claire x

  21. Thanks for your comments on my Strictly site! :) I'm especially pleased you like the layout as it took ages to get right. I've got some more plans to include some additional info, looking in more detail at the dances and scoring, so I hope you'll come back regularly to check it out :smile2:

  22. Hi Charm! Just wanted to pop in and say that of course you can call me chesil if you like.

And also, I'm getting a bit worried about your Eric Northman obsession   Only kidding, although I thought Twilighters had it bad, but there's some serious competition from the True Blood fans - I'm sure we'll start getting some resistance on the forum soon ;)

  23. She's 39 years old, and the amount of stress it puts on your body during the training for Strictly is immense. I hate this agism slant the papers have put on the recent news. Arlene was the weakest link of the judges, and Karen retired from professional competition years ago, so to still be dancing at that level was a great achievement.

  24. Don't worry, I'm not really that surprised  I guessed after last year she might have had enough, and she's opened her own London studio now, so that must take up most of her time. I hope she still comes on It Takes Two or BBC Breakfast as a correspondent though, as I respect what she has to say about dancing.
