  1. Hello! Hope you're well. Just popping in to say I've written a review of "Murder Most Fab" by Julian Clary in my reading blog and I remember you saying you'd be interested in my thoughts on it.

  2. Hi Mia, just noticed the quote in your signature, and it reminded me of a line from my (current) favourite book, Postcards from the Edge by Carrie Fisher, which is "Instant gratification takes too long."

  3. Thanks Paula, I'm good today thanks. Hope you're keeping well too :)

Don't worry about P&P & Zombies, I've got more than enough to keep me going for a while though  One of my friends was talking about getting it for when they go on holiday, so I can probably pinch it off them at some point if I want ;) Thanks for thinking of me though, love Claire x

  4. Thanks Scarlette! I searched online for all the book quotes I could find, and I've always loved the Marx brothers films, so it seemed to fit me perfectly.

How are you finding the forum so far? I'm really enjoying it, as everyone is friendly and seems to respect everyone else's opinions.

  5. An ever increasing pile of books (either already owned, or on the list waiting to bought) is definitely a consequence of reading all the posts here! Like you, I've also found lots of books waiting to be discovered after looking at other peoples reading lists and reviews.

  6. It is Karen and Mark! They are my all time Strictly favourites and their Argentine Tango is my favourite ever dance on Strictly. It gives me goosebumps and butterflies every time I watch it.

  7. Hi Inver, I've just written my full review for A Lifetime Burning in my reading list thread, but to sum up, I thought it was a fascinating book.

  8. I do like Flavia and Vincent as Argentine Tango dancers, but purely from the competition celeb/professional partnerships, Mark and Karen's was by far the most electrifying one I've seen. I also love the tango (Zoe & Ian's in series three was awesome) and the paso doble (my favourite was Jill & Darren in series two).

I think the Arlene thing has been blown out of all proportion. Last year the press were calling for her (and the other judges) to be sacked after their comments about John Sargeant, and now they are saying she should stay, just because she's older! I think Craig, Arlene and Bruno all have similar backgrounds and any one of them could have been replaced, and I think Arlene is the one that struggles to be natural on screen. They've decided to go with Alesha, and she does bring a unique perspective, even if not from a technical point of view, and at least we know she's passionate about the show, so I'm quite pleased.

  9. Hi Charm! Just wanted to pop in and say that of course you can call me chesil if you like.

And also, I'm getting a bit worried about your Eric Northman obsession   Only kidding, although I thought Twilighters had it bad, but there's some serious competition from the True Blood fans - I'm sure we'll start getting some resistance on the forum soon ;)

  10. Hiya! I'm so pleased you're enjoying it so much :smile2: That revelation is such a surprise isn't it  Happy reading :D

  11. Hi Diane

I found my swimming book, it's called "Learn Swimming in a Weekend" by Sharron Davies, and the ISBN is 0-7513-0291-0. Lots of photos showing you how to do each stroke - it definitely improved my breaststroke, but I never managed to be able to do butterfly!

  12. She didn't particularly annoy me - at least not more than any of the other judges at times! - but to me, she always felt less spontaneous, like she'd written her comments before she'd seen the dance, especially with her alliteration all the time. I think the problem with adding another judge taking the panel up to five, would have made the judging too long, but they do need to do something about the tie situation, which is rubbish. If it's a tie with the judges, then go back to the public vote and let them decide.

  13. Hi Mac, hope you're well. Just wanted to let you know I finished The Other Hand yesterday, which I bought after you reviewed it - thought it was excellent. Will definitely be in my top books of the year.

  14. You're welcome. I've just never been able to do the leg kick. Arms are ok, but I think I need a proper coach to teach me butterfly as I just can't get it!

  15. Hi Michelle,

Just popping in to say hello and thanks for the friend invite. Hope you've had a good weekend :)

  16. Making the most of the nice weather today as forecast for tomorrow is rain, rain and more rain, in other words a typical bank holiday!

  17. Just popping in to say thanks for your comments on my bookshelves! The cherub is a bit of a standing joke in our house - we have a small house and the cherub was a present from friends and although it's meant to be a decoration for Christmas, we don't have anywhere else to put it during the rest of the year, so it's permanently on display in the one space it would fit in to!

  18. Hope you're having a lovely birthday!

  19. Back to work after a long weekend, but at least we're a day closer to the weekend already!

  20. Hello libri. Let me know how you get on with the jazz pianists, and if you find any new ones, keep me updated! I'm always on the look out for new things to listen to. :smile2:

  21. Hiya! How are you?

Yep, Strictly just 5 and a half weeks away, and the launch show announcing the celebs will be on 11th September. I wish I had more time to prepare my website LOL

  22. Happy Birthday frankie! Hope you have a fabulous day x

  23. Happy Birthday! Hope you got some lovely books to fill up those new shelves ;)

  24. Happy Birthday Diane! Hope you're having a lovely day x

  25. Oh no! She's my favourite :( I'm surprised they didn't try to replace Arlene with her as a judge - that would have made two ballroom/latin specialist judges and two choreography/performer judges. And I've had such a bad day as well, that just tops it all off.
