I have a life haha yes - I've actually started going to college/spending more time with the college girls. (And playing games online ) My rambles are behind, I'vethree to do and I *really* need to pick up my reading.

I kind of liked the Alba-angle, I liked the scientific angle throughout and the idea of it being a medical condition by the time Alba was 10 was nice. Or something. I'm not sure - I think she had some okay ideas towards the end, they just weren't necessary. The feet thing was NOT necessary.

I liked Ingrid and whatshisname.... uhmm, oh man. Charisse's boyfriend. I thought that boyfriend had a little more depth than some of the others - on the one hand he wanted Clare and acted like a typical man about it, on the other he did respect Henry and even helped him (shovelling snow, carrying him to the shed, etc). I also though Ingrid was a little underplayed - I loved the suicide scene. I can't believe they've cut Ingrid out of the movie.

  2. I have no good titles anyway I'm afraid, mine's plagarised from the words of Tim Minchin. 'And he keeps on writing songs the world will never hear, and though it sounds absurd he just keeps writing, and he will never be deterred - but he'll always be a fudgeed up little try-hard wannabe rock n' roll nerd!'

And don't buy the graveyard book! It started out well but I'm half way through and it's dragging. I actually gave up on it, and I *love* Neil Gaiman.

I haven't actually heard of "A Complicated Kindness".... care to elaborate?

    xoxo

  4. I haven't read it actually, I had a copy years ago but I couldn't get into it at the time - I've always wanted to give it another go though, and I had planned on giving it a go after The Historian, so that's perfect! :friends0::friends0: I should be able to post The Graveyard Book to you early next week I think.

    Hows you?

  5. I just feel really crappy. My flu is affecting the upper half of me with wooziness, sore throat, coughing etc, and the joys of nature are attacking my lower half, providing awful cramps, for which I have no painkillers and no money for painkillers.

    How're you?

  6. I just had a thought.

I don't know your real name!!!

  7. I keep changing my avatar, I know :P It's probably going to be Twilight avatars for quite a while!

Not long til you see Jack's now is it?? You must be so excited! Take a picture will you?

    Actually. You know what.

Can I ask - if you get a chance to talk to Andrew, coz he often does meet and greets, any chance you'd ask for an autograph? :P I'd give you my address to post it. I know it's a lot to ask, but I might as well at least ask.

  8. I know, but I had chocolate cake yesterday and today :P I won't object though, free food is free food.

So what's going on over there? It's going on 4am here, I should probably be asleep, but I'm not

  9. I know, I end up having to read back over pages. It's a really bad idea, but I'm permenantly tired these days!!

How many pages exactly is that book?

  10. I know! I'm in shock! I'm so honoured!!

Muahaha!!! THE POWAH!!! (I kid, I'll be good :P)

  11. I know! Just look down my profile! 'This message has been deleted by roxi s.c.' 'this message has been...' yada.

I can officially cook pasta! I experimented several ways, and I've discovered how to cook it well and nicely =D

  12. I may be muti-tasking, but its mostly boring tasks  The book sucks, I'm rushing through it. I'm watching the movie directly after. I might make another cuppa myself, already had two coz its so cooooold here!:cold:

And will do, although it''ll be a while until I get to it, because my list this year is PACKED :tong:

  13. I miss you too. Come back :(

    Haven't chatted in ages!!!

You're like my online mummy type person, where are you?!?!?!?!

  14. I need to sort my diet out too lol, I never eat properly.

My essay is on moral responsibility - it's a comparison of two philosophers approaches to whether we can actually have free will or not, or how we can hold people responsible for their actions if they're not actually free.

And you would touch on dualism yes, since it's about the mind being seperate from the brain, which, being a trainee psychologist, you probably know is unlikely to be true according to science, it's only likely to be true according to completely unscientific western religions. I've done a lot on dualism, and touched on psychology in those classes :P I love how the two overlap.

I off-topic waaaay too much.

Yeah, you come across as the type to read books that require a degree of intellect, as opposed to constant mindless entertainment (of course, that's welcome once in a while too!) My guilty pleasure is Young Adult books! Some are great, and some are, well, Twilight. Have you read/any interest in The Time Traveller's Wife? It's more Philosophy than anything, a bit romancey. I find it quite fascinating, but I don't know what your take on Philosophy is. (I study it mind, so don't be too harsh!)

As for the scary books thing - movies scare me. I hide behind people/objects when it comes to scary slasher/jumpy movies. But anything psychological just fascinates me. This book (Book Of Lost Things) is a bit graphic in parts and slightly disturbing, I don't find it scary. It has like 100 pages of notes on fairytale origins and things at the end, so more than anything I'm learning about original fairytales from it!

  16. I still get told that I'm not an insomniac. Ohh the sun is just starting to shine directly in my window. Nice. Not.

Just opened my curtains - the sun is rising directly opposite my window. It's gorgeous. I've never seen direct sunlight fill my room - it's really really lovely. I love early morning when it's bright but the sun hasn't risen high enough to shine directly on much of anything.

  17. I suck at being patient :(

  18. I suppose. You're taking over my visitor's page.

    What will people think?

  19. I used all small words in that post for you plebs!

And you're one to talk, you're probably the most articulate person on this forum! ;)

  20. I was about to tell you that you're just tired, but upon reviewing my previous post, I actually didn't make sense, did I? I might want to *wear* your scarf but I certainly don't want to *eat* it. That's what I meant to say.

    Anywayz....

  21. I would prefer most things to a checkout, so hopefully in the long run it will work out well. :D

Anyway, I think I'm gonna get some sleep. It's nearly 3.30am here, and my feet are all blistered from my unintelligently walking in thin shoes, so I pretty much need to conk out and rest a bit :P

    Talk again soon :friends0:

  22. I'm currently living with my brother - which is awesome in it's own way. He's a reserved intellectual type, and I virtually never see him. It's better than the alternative, which is living with a bunch of rowdy students. It's still a sort of dependance though.

My tummy is acting weird. It's slightly sore and gurgly - I don't think I'm hungry (the idea of food isn't particularly appealing), but I don't know what else could be bothering it. :(

  23. I'm fascinated by quantum physics. It kinda ties in with free will in Philosophy. I like mixing science fact with philosophical theories, and psychology and so on. It's not difficult if you've already been studying it, which I have.

It already covered the part about God and the Copenhagen Interpretation, right? How either there are multiple universes, or there is a God, because according to quantum physics a particle exists in a wavefunction and doesn't take up a fixed position until it has been observed and the wavefunction collapsed? I love that idea. It's so obvious, or it should be, to someone like me who loves that sorta thing, but it had never occured to me before reading the book.

  24. I'm great! Nearly a week later and I'm still on a high from meeting Tim Minchin! *sigh* I'm such a fangirl, I sicken myself

I didn't go see the movie, I refuse to pay money towards it, Oscar would turn in his grave if I did! I'll 'acquire' it when it becomes more 'available' elsewhere, just so I can justifiably rant about it

  25. I'm having a great evening, I'm reading a fantastic book by Linwood Barclay, have you read either of his books?

    Also how're you doing?
