  1. Not my type of book but the comments have made me want to read it now! It's on my wish list.
  2. Welcome to the forum
  3. Welcome to the forum, Stevie.
  4. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm about half way through now; it's a big book! I saw the movie 'Raise the Titanic' and loved it! Although, I'm sure I read somewhere it was a commerical flop.....but that's another story! lol
  5. Cool! Let us know what you think, Ruth. Oh, and enjoy.
  6. Hi there! Thanks; I am indeed enjoying it :)

  7. Damn, just ordered two books from Amazon and just found this excellent review! I'll have to try and get a copy at some point.
  8. Well, as you might have guessed by my title, WW2 non-fiction and fiction fill my shelves. I do have some supernatural and thrillers. My aim by joining this forum is to maybe branch out with my reading genres; I fear, however, I'm hopelessly lost to the 1940s...........lol
  9. Oh yes. There are some books that I'll never part with and will read again many months or even years later. Here's one I recently reread. It's a wonderful WW2 memoir that brings a lump to my throat. It's also a book that inspires me to press on with life no matter what obstacles are placed in my way. ''Red Tail Captured, Red Tail Free: Memoirs of a Tuskegee Airman and POW''
  10. Hi , you mentioned you have an interest in WW2 aviation. We must share some reviews sometimes :)

  15. Welcome, I'm new here too. Very friendly crowd
  16. Hello folks! I'm just about 1/3 of the way through 'Dark Watch' and am enjoying it so far. Okay, so it's not one of the best books I've ever read, but it's keeping me interested enough to pick it up every day. The only problem I have found is the large number of characters involved which tends to get confusing at times. I find I really need to be 'on the ball' with this book as it's pretty technical at times. How do other books of Cussler's compare? What do you consider his best and how do you find his style? Cheers
  17. I read most nights in bed, usually until I can't stay awake any longer.........
  18. Thanks No, he's just one from my mind.....lol Thanks for the warm welcome everyone

    Howdy!

Hello! I'm new to the site and thought it only polite to introduce myself. I'm 36 and a reading junkie. I've also been working on my own novel for the last 6 years and am at the editing stage. I'm a professional artist by trade and work with graphite and acrylics (the avatar is one of mine). Bookwise I'm very much into WW2 aviation, especially memoirs. Also love supernatural and action/thrillers. However, I'm open to anything that will inspire and enthrall me. Anyway, that's about it foks. If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask.
  20. This book sounds great! Thanks for the tip
