  1. Maybe it wouldn't be too naughty to get books for the ones who read at least sometimes and therefore cannot object to reading... Hmph! Ha ha, you really think I'm running late?

Yeah my BF plays something on the computer (not PS3 or Xbox though) but he downloads those games from the internet. He also studies computer technology and knows what he wants and needs and I would not dare buy him anything computer related  but thanks for the suggestions though. I'm also on a budget so cannot afford too expensive gifts, being student and all  He would like me to knit him woollen socks but I don't know if I'll be able to manage that before Christmas, because I never remember how to do them and have to be assisted by my Mom...

  2. Morning Charm,

how are you? I took a refreshing shower in the morning and I'm pretty good :) Did you get much reading done last night? Or should I put it this way: Did you start Breaking Dawn already?? =P

  3. Morning Louise,

how are you darling? The weekend's ahead of us, wanna take a little ride? I'll pick you up when your husband's at work. Don't you go and chicken out on me ya hear?

    Love, Thelma

  4. Morning Nicola,

aww poor you, hope you don't have anything important to do today and can just relax and have a nice hangover day with the wallpaper dude and telly and whatnots :friends0: But I bet last night was worth it after your stressful 2 weeks, you've earned it hun! Crazy Frog drinks sound a bit spooky though, I hope they didn't come with any Hogwarts kinda perks?!

    :haha: Well 'Hyv

  5. Morning Nicola!

That's just not fair and not right :( Having a sickness and getting treatment for it should make things better, nobody should have to worry about a low immune system and catching some other sickness and getting complications because of that. It just seems so harsh when you're already battling another disease. Especially when these things can happen really suddenly and unexpectedly :(

It's good that you and your sister can take turns on being there for your mother, because this is hard for you as well and you need time for yourself. Try to get some rest. You are in my thoughts :friends0:

Oh and yeah, after I posted you about the Dex group I realized that you haven't actually read any of the books yet and you might feel awkward joining the group because of that but I see that you've already joined the group so...

  6. Morning Nicola!

What's with that woman?? I mean lending her staples causes her that kind of grief?? She's obviously really anal about her things. Wouldn't hurt to be nice about it though! Maybe she's got some issues and that's why she's so grumpy :( Uni staff are really a mixed lot!

How'd you get on with Dexter?! Tell me and don't hold me in suspense :D

Wasn't hearing about your old books sort of like hearing about this treasure you'd forgotten all about? I'm so excited for you!! When are going to go through them?? You must tell me what you found. I hope it doesn't mean you'll be reading the books on your treasure chest the whole summer! We got Dex and Lincoln, woman!

Now I must go to the shop. I forgot to buy milk and now my morning is nearly ruined without my cup of coffee!! :irked::D

  7. Morning!

Indeed, your trip to the cinema sounded quite memorable! I hope all came out of it alive. I wouldn't mind having someone to take to the loos at the end so I could miss the dog dying part... Do you think other people would mind if I started asking if anyone needs to go?

I just woke up at 8 o'clock to the sound of someone drilling at the nextdoor neighbor's bathroom. Funny thing was, they were drilling for 20 seconds tops and then they stopped. Just as I had already climbed out of my bed thinking there's no use trying to sleep. After that it's been quiet, just a little soft vacuuming. Why did I get up??

  8. Morning! No, you didn't wake me up at all! The little birds woke me up at 5.30 again but then went straight back to sleep and have just gotten up. I kinda like the birdie wake up call. So is all good :)

I thought I'd just stay at home and read today, if I go to town I might given into buying smokes and I don't want to risk it. I have to make a real effort at quitt...

  9. Muah yourself! (knew it was a kiss)

I just told BF about the pants thing, he didn't know about it either. Then I remembered the phrase "I got ants in my pants" and started laughing hysterically. I'm glad BF is very patient with me and never thinks I'm crazy haha :D

  10. My Mayday was pretty quiet and relaxed with BF, we didn't do anything special this year but the students in his neighborhood started celebrating Mayday 2 weeks beforehand! When I arrived to his building there was this minisauna that could hold 1-2 people at a time, people were in and out of it and drunk as a skunk! There was this one lad who was totally naked except for his graduation cap and maybe socks, and he was peeing quite happily all over the place without using his hands for direction. You should've seen his face. There was this other naked lad behind him who'd found a waterhose and was nice enough to oblige the other naked guy with a bit of a hosing!

I finished Making Waves days ago and picked up Vampire Lestat. I'm struggling with it a bit  It just doesn't grip me like Interview with the Vampire did. But it's early days, I'm hoping it'll pick up!

  11. My post was too long again, that's why the numerous posts, sorry

I wish you and your family a very peaceful, joyos and merry Christmas! :friends0:

(And really, plz, your TBR is 16 books long?? How is that "long"?? Mine's over hundred!)

  12. Nice eyes and nice hair, and his sixpack ain't too shabby either ;)

But you are right, Edward's rather appealing as well. I found the movie was full of appealing men ;)

Ooooh what kinda title were you thinking of?? You got me curious

  13. Nice to see you're doing well and getting in the spirit of Christmas! :D I must admit I have no idea what a mince meet pie let alone a sweet mince pie means  I once read about shepherd's pies and I'm sorry but it sounded awful! It might be good if I got to taste it but the recipe didn't entice me in any way.

Well I'm okay I guess, although I've suffered from a massive setback, you know I was supposed to go to Swaziland with a friend to do my language exchange? (I've talked about it in my members' thread?) Well friend cancelled on me and I've been sad, upset etc. :( I gotta get my act together and start finding me a new place!

Otherwise I'm good, I'm really enjoying my Office Marathon! :D There have been so many great episodes!! The episode when Michael and Jan invited Jim&Pam etc to dinner was hilarious  And so awkward! I think Michael is becoming more and more humane, I begin to feel for him at times. Even Dwight! I hope he gets back together with Angela.

  14. Nicola, guess what! I went to a bookshop today just to browse, but then oh my! I happened to find Let The Right One In as a book!! :icon_eek: I just had to buy it because it's a vamp book and it's a Swedish novel (I love everything Nordic). When I have the time to read it, I'll let you know how I liked it, and please do the same for me with the movie, I'm keeping my fingers crossed it's popular and they'll show it for another week so you can go see it!

How you doing with Holland and The Coffin Dancer? I'm really engrossed in the book but I haven't had the time to finish it yet :irked: I haven't written about it much yet on the thread because I wasn't quite sure if we should use the Lincoln Deaver thread or start up a new one for that particular book.

  15. No you definitely don't all look like that

And it's so funny that you should mention that PM reply, because I was thinking about asking you whether it was your turn or mine to reply, because sometimes my mind's just lost and I forget stuff.

And rest assured Kylie, there's no pressure on you to reply to me ASAP! Take your time!! I know exactly how you feel about this because I've been meaning to PM Charm and peace and Nicola for ages and I keep thinking I should do it and I'll do it as soon as I have the opportunity, and here I am, not having PM'd them yet and it's been months! So no worries darling!

  16. No you haven't done the spoilerslip again, that was just a cheeky little reminder, naughty me :tong: Good thing you got your copy of Coffin Dancer! I'm looking forward to reading it too. And Bone Collector is on TV tonight :D

Don't talk about old hostels! I saw a document about Nathan Coleman, the American who shot a police officer in Leeds and then ran off. He went to stay at a B&B in Gateshead in a very quiet place. He was the only guest at the B&B and the receptionist was all alone working that night. She thought he seemed a bit creepy when he was signing in and after he'd gone to his room she was reading the paper and saw his face in the paper, realizing that the murderer was right there in a room above her. She called the manager who called the police and then locked herself in a room and had to just wait for the police. Oh my god I would've been so scared!!

Sorry, this was probably not a good story to tell you, I'm sure your hostel is much more comfortable and uneventful!!

  17. No, it's not serious, it's just a regular flu with a rather ill timing. I'd hate to miss the local rock festival this weekend because of this. So I'm trying to recover soon :) BF left town so I'm a bit depressed about having to cook for myself now, and having to do the dishes :tong: But don't you worry about me, I've got good books and good TV to keep me company, I just need to rest is all.

You still reading them Harris books? How many has she actually written??

  18. Now going to bed sober, how did you manage that?? I bet boxing day was great without hangover  We had great xmas with BF, opened pressies, ate chocolate and whatnot. Although I did spend quite a lot of time on my computer finishing my book cataloguing in goodreads.com, but BF didn't mind, he watched TV and played the quitar. We drank too, but slowly and not much. We didn't practise the normal Finnish way of drinking (=getting hammered), we were quite sophisticated and European

Yeah I noticed you got some books, I was particularly happy about that Dexter book, but Stephen Fry's good too! I mean I haven't read Moab Is My Washpot yet, but it's waiting on my bookshelf. I've noticed we've acquired quite a few same books, I guess we can blame the influence of BCF!

  19. Now, if I were to say that your latest avatar reminds me of a mooncup, could I persuade you to choose the next one from some of your dog pics? Nope, the new avatar is quite safe :) I love the colours and it's really dreamy. I also like that picture in your signature, I actually prefer that one.

How was your weekend? I had a great one with BF, we made 8 pizzas (we sometimes go a little crazy with food) and watched movies and went to sauna. Next weekend I'm going to visit him. He actually got some great news this Monday, he gets to have his own little student appartment! No more awkward bumping into roommates! :tong: I'm so excited :smile2:

  20. Oh ********, it's way past me bedtime, I guess I'll grab a book and head towards the bed. Sleep tight Nicola and remember, whatever Ross says, you have the final say in the wallpaper matters!! ;)

    Talk to you later, xx

  21. Oh and remember that girl from Jim's new office? Who said to the camera that she doesn't know if Jim will fit in, and "what's with Jim doing all the weird faces to the camera?" Apparently that girl doesn't have much of a sense of humor.... Pam would've gotten Jim's faces, everytime. Pam's expression of pure mortification and astonishment as Michael was kissing Oscar was PRICELESS

You're such a lucky girl for having the new episodes, I'm so way behind. But I don't mind because all the good stuff is ahead :D

  22. Oh boy, I missed your Birthday, sorry! Happy belated Birthday! *huggles* :)

Just came in here to say, in case you meant it when you said you'd not come back to the girly thread: go back and see Weave's and my post :) Please :)

  23. Oh God this proved to be more difficult than I thought, I'm almost giving up putting some books of mine for grabs in the member's books -area because I don't know how to say that Fablon thing (I really don't like the Fablon word.) Now how's that for perfectionism!!

I'm not having a blonde moment, just a language moment :( See I thought that laminating could also mean putting that Fablon on the covers of a book. Thus laminating a book. I suppose it only works on one sheet of paper? But then if this is the case, how come I find many hits on google for laminated books. Hm I guess it's the difference between saying 'laminated book' or 'laminated book _covers_'. Does that make any sense?

You really need to remember at times that I am Finnish and English is a foreign language to me!!! ;):smile2:

And yes. What can you say about Ross. He's so weird sometimes it's not even funny.

  24. Oh man that sounds delicious alright... buns!! And marshmallow traybake... Can you adopt me? Or would you like to hire me for a couple of months to ... um... watch over Piper while you bake? I mean I could do it for free if you're low on cash. Even those caramel squares sound yummy  Just take care your OH doesn't lose his tooth fillings or anything on those cookies

I was taking it kinda easy with the organising so I need to continue tomorrow but I don't mind, it'll be so rewarding in the end :) It's been a really mellow and nice Saturday, I was even happy when it started raining. I went to sauna and now I'm watching telly. Overall I feel just great. Which is really something for me you know, my new meds are working :D

  25. Oh my lord I've just watched episode seven and the Stanford branch will be closing!! Jim's coming back but oh heck he caved in at the last moment and told that Karen girl or whatever that she should come too if they offer her a job. ********!! But at least he's coming back <3

And oh, by the coffee incident did you mean Michael getting coffee from the warehouse or Dwight saving Stanley from drinking the poisoned coffee?? Jim's so clever, faxing Dwight with Dwight's own stationary, pretending to be the future Dwight  How does he come up with that stuff?? Awwww Jim :smile2:
