  1. Ah, I read your last message first and then noticed the previous one. Are you sure you got the name right because Markuu is not a Finnish name? Perhaps you mean 'Markus' or, more likely, 'Markku'? If the latter, I don't blame you for not getting it right, the kk's are both pronounced and English does not have any word that would have double k's.

  2. I've found that play.com suits my student budget the best :) And not least because of the free shipping. Besides, the variety of books is amazing, I probably wouldn't find half of the books I've ordered from there in Finnish online bookshops let alone in any Finnish bookstores. Internet is an amazing thing :)

  3. Happy Birthday Purple Poppy! :)

  4. Hi Pixie, thanks for adding me! :) I read in the What's up in June -thread that your meeting with a certain person is in two days, I hope you don't think I'm too nosey but I'd love to hear how it went! :)

  5. I'm glad that our dispute over Nightwish didn't stop you from making this request :smile2: It's nice to know people who like the same bands that I do. I haven't come across with another Anathema fan here yet :)

  6. That's a lot of brothers+sisters! I'm so jealous, I've only got an older brother with whom I don't get along at all, we're fighting every time we see each other and nowadays I'm trying to avoid seeing him. I hope you get along better with your siblings! Of course you weren't spoiled because you turned out fine!! :D I can't even begin to imagine what it was like to lose your Dad, I'm so sorry to hear he died :( You still have your dear memories of him though, they'll help you keep him closer (which of course is not the same thing but you know what I mean).

Yeah I know the pics are from the old house but from what I saw in those pics I gathered that the new house is going to be swell too :smile2:

Yeah I know, we seem to be reading same books. The same thing's happening with Nicola too and I just told her the other day that it's like women living together; they'll start having their periods in sync, and here in BCF we seem to be in sync with what we're reading at the mo :D

  7. Yeah they're both from me. Stupid FB!! Well I did save those messages on my laptop so I suppose I could send them to you on here? The mail was quite lenghty so that's why I had to split it in two. Will probably have to it on here as well. Oh and I realised the system saves my sent messages as well so I can delete them and get more room! I'll try sending the messages right away :)

Yes I'd love to have Piper, there no cow poo in my flat so yay, but that would probably depress her :( I hope you're not really seriously considering giving her up? :( That would make me and Piper sad pandas! Although I do understand that she must be a handful!

  8. Imdb'ed the guy, his bro is Christopher Masterson but! I've just realised I'm confusing him with Neil Patrick Harris who was in Stark Raving Mad, an excellent comedy about a thriller writer (who was played by the ever so great Tony Shalhoub, the Monk!) :)

  9. I'm glad you're enjoying Dexter! I love it how you get both the book and the TV series and they're both excellent yet very different when it comes to storyline (except for the 1st book & season). I'm dying to see season three! :smile2:

Thanks for your words on the scales thing! It really cheered me up :smile2: I'm feeling motivated again. This forum's just great, the support is awesome!!

Our bank holiday was on Thursday so it's gone already. I wouldn't mind having a bank holiday every two weeks :tong:

Oooh man I've gotta dash, I'm making spring rolls. (Not from scratch! I'm not that handy)

  10. Hi Catwoman!

Okay now I understand why you were jealous. It must be pretty hard sometimes, not being able to see shows and go out in general. But I can tell you that the punk band turned out to be a rock punk band, they were okay but I didn't enjoy the vocalists voice. And even though he ended up shirtless I didn't enjoy that either, not my kinda rockstar at all  The band's called Mojo Swing and I don't think they're big in Finland, let alone in the whole world. But it was nice to hear you think we've got great bands here, it's nice that our teeny tiny country has produced some internationally known artists and bands in this century!

    Have a nice Saturday! :D

  11. If everything went according to plan you should now have three (3) PMs from me :)

  12. Morning Mac, you're up early! I'm good thanks, little stress with uni stuff but that's always the story with me until I manage to finish my thesis :D How've you been? I don't think we've crossed paths on the forum lately, which I guess means that we haven't been reading the same kinds of books. I've just started Wuthering Heights, I'm rather embarrassed that I've managed to neglect such a classic for so long. What are you reading?

  13. Hornby's been really good so far, so mojo is still intact :D It was a shame about Miss Smilla though, I really wanted to enjoy it. But at least I finished the book. I haven't had time to read the Smilla thread completely (BF is staying with me and he's hogging the computer! :motz:) so I don't know whether you enjoyed it or not? If you're feeling guilty about nominating Smilla then I should too because I cast one vote for the book  But how were we to know it could be such a drag for some of us?:giggle:

  14. Well why should you know how to spell Finnish :) Must be confusing, having both a Markus and a Markku!

That's a typical Swede girl for you, they're so beautiful there's no denying. The Swedish guys are really cute as well ;) Actually, you remind me so much of a Finnish girl I know it's crazy! :) And don't sell yourself short, you're beautiful!

  15. Oooh, btw, I just got Dexter in the Dark today, as well as The Rosary Girls. I couldn't help but order them online and they've arrived. I'm feeling real giddy :D

  16. Hiya Mac!

I'm good thanks, I hope your are well as well :) I don't think BF would ever actually join BCF, he doesn't read that much and he's not that into reading about reading  He doesn't even like reading blurbs because he says they give away the story too much and he'd like to read the book for himself and make his own mind up about the book. Makes choosing for what to read a bit difficult in my opinion... But like I said he doesn't read that much and he keeps to a couple of his favorite authors. I have to get back to you on that Garbadale book, BF is not online yet, I think he's still sleeping :D

So what are you up to today? It's a sunny Sunday here and I'm feeling good about it, I have millions of ideas for today! Although probably I'll just stick to reading and watching the telly...:D

  17. Hiya Charm!

I just thought I'd pop in and say hello and ask you how your doing, it's been a while since we've chatted :)

By the way, the book series you and Fi (and someone else?) were talking about on your reading blog sounded really interesting, but I couldn't really tell which series it was because I kind of got the idea that there were couple of different ones and I got confused. I was also a bit afraid to ask if you'd think I'd like it, because I have way too many books to read as it is...

I hope all is well and mojo will stay intact for many months to come! :D

  18. Morning Nicola!

That's just not fair and not right :( Having a sickness and getting treatment for it should make things better, nobody should have to worry about a low immune system and catching some other sickness and getting complications because of that. It just seems so harsh when you're already battling another disease. Especially when these things can happen really suddenly and unexpectedly :(

It's good that you and your sister can take turns on being there for your mother, because this is hard for you as well and you need time for yourself. Try to get some rest. You are in my thoughts :friends0:

Oh and yeah, after I posted you about the Dex group I realized that you haven't actually read any of the books yet and you might feel awkward joining the group because of that but I see that you've already joined the group so...

  19. As much as I would love chatting to you more, I must be off, it's 4 AM here and I need my beauty sleep (to be able to compete with the ****** Swedes!!) :D Good night to me, and a great day to you my dear <3

  20. It seems like Ceinwenn and Charm are all ready for reading the 3rd book of Dexter and quite frankly I'm fed up with Lestat so I'm going to go ahead and read the first two Dexters and then catch up with C+C for the third book. Join us if you're up for it!

  21. You ordered the Twilight books?? Weren't you supposed to stay off the band wagon with this one?? Now why'd you go and watch that movie and go to the other side!!

Well, in the future if books that you're not planning on ordering fall into your basket on amazon you can cancel them. It's very easy! Do you want me to do it for you if you don't know how? :tong:

So it's true, you and Ceinwenn started the 3rd Dex book. What's that like... I really really don't blame you. I'm not reading as quick as I used to and you would still be waiting for me to finish if you hadn't just gone on and started with it. I hope I get to it soon myself and we can compare notes :D

I said this in my thread but I'm going to say it here as well: That 4 lbs is an amazing result and I'm damn proud of you :smile2: It's 6 lbs in 2 weeks!! Keep it up girl :friends0:

  22. Essays?? Now I'm really ashamed of myself!! Redfaced! :lurker: Bloody hell

Those essays of mine warrant nothing, you do as you wish and please take your time, I certainly did

Mmmm tea, I think I need some more nutrition in my system! Have a lovely night at Tescos me luv! :D:hug:

  23. No you haven't done the spoilerslip again, that was just a cheeky little reminder, naughty me :tong: Good thing you got your copy of Coffin Dancer! I'm looking forward to reading it too. And Bone Collector is on TV tonight :D

Don't talk about old hostels! I saw a document about Nathan Coleman, the American who shot a police officer in Leeds and then ran off. He went to stay at a B&B in Gateshead in a very quiet place. He was the only guest at the B&B and the receptionist was all alone working that night. She thought he seemed a bit creepy when he was signing in and after he'd gone to his room she was reading the paper and saw his face in the paper, realizing that the murderer was right there in a room above her. She called the manager who called the police and then locked herself in a room and had to just wait for the police. Oh my god I would've been so scared!!

Sorry, this was probably not a good story to tell you, I'm sure your hostel is much more comfortable and uneventful!!

  24. Your taking a bath sounds like rocket science  You like it hot but you cannot cope with going into the tub when it's hot already. I understand what you're saying but sounds complicated! I think you'd like saunas :) Your answer didn't actually answer my question though! When you're doing the actual reading, where do you keep the book? In your hands? I don't think I'd like to chance that, I'm clumsy and I'd drop the book in no time!

I didn't get my bath today though. It's in a horrific condition my friend tells me, and she wants to scrub it good and clean before she's going to use it/let me use it. She's real nice to let me use her tub, although she has no choice because I'm letting her use my washing machine during the summer (she couldn't fit hers in the new appartment and had to sell it, and there are no common laundry rooms with washing machines in her new building). I'm also going to let her use my sauna turn when I'm not in town so I think we're even :)

  25. Happy Birthday Bethany! :)
