  1. That episode was definitely genious, I've never laughed so hard watching that series! Oh well there was that one episode about the different ethnic backgrounds, I think I need to see that again... And it wasn't scripted?? Well in a way I'm not surprised because Steve Carrell is really talented and the other actors as well. I don't know how they do it, the deadpan faces... Jim especially, it's so cute when he looks at the camera looking all "didn't I tell you??"

Yeah I saw Pam's ex's mugshot... Boy has he gotten all beardy and dishevelled looking after Pam ditched him. And I think Jim took the other job before Pam and BF broke up, otherwise it wouldn't make any sense?

Seeing Jim's new office was really weird! Andy did have a bit of a temper tantrum when Jim 'hid' his calculator in jello  Boy he was pretty scary, Jim looked like he was a bit afraid! Nothing like that bonehead Dwight.

  2. That was a horrible show, one of the worst reality shows ever (not because it was Australian, I've quite enjoyed Australia's Next Top Model :smile2:). Did you not get the stick tit part?? :D Kylie Booby, Stick Breast. ! Stick tit  I don't know what that would look like in real life though.

BTW, you'll be quite happy to see Book Activities thread today and learn I got five new books today ;) Just to let you know you're not the only one.

  3. That's a lot of brothers+sisters! I'm so jealous, I've only got an older brother with whom I don't get along at all, we're fighting every time we see each other and nowadays I'm trying to avoid seeing him. I hope you get along better with your siblings! Of course you weren't spoiled because you turned out fine!! :D I can't even begin to imagine what it was like to lose your Dad, I'm so sorry to hear he died :( You still have your dear memories of him though, they'll help you keep him closer (which of course is not the same thing but you know what I mean).

Yeah I know the pics are from the old house but from what I saw in those pics I gathered that the new house is going to be swell too :smile2:

Yeah I know, we seem to be reading same books. The same thing's happening with Nicola too and I just told her the other day that it's like women living together; they'll start having their periods in sync, and here in BCF we seem to be in sync with what we're reading at the mo :D

  4. The image of you dancing daintily along the isles of Tesco with your trolly sailing along puts the snort in my laughter  And none of them wonky wheel craps   I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything, that would've cost me a laptop!!

Oh my, first you're not here that much and now you can't get off!! (Hm, no sexual innuendos ) Oh it's been a wonderful 24 hours, a lot of BCF action and reacquainting myself with all you lovely lot <3

  5. There are only about 5,3 million Finns. I think foreigners perceive us as quiet, shy and reserved but nice and friendly lot nevertheless. I think Finns seems shy to foreigners mostly because we are a bit "afraid" to speak foreign languages, we are scared of making mistakes and losing face. When we get a little bit of alcohol we become very fluent in English ;) I admit that even I am a bit timid at first when I need to speak English

I think Finland is really beautiful especially because of the four seasons that vary greatly here. Winters are cold (although not as cold as say 5 years ago), there's lot of snow and plenty of wintery activities are available! Skiing, ice-skating, snowboarding, you name it. And Santa Claus is from Finland of course. He lives in Lappland, the northern part of Finland.

  6. There's nothing I or anyone can do about it, you're lost forever. Twilight will rule you. I will lurk in the shadows however, always a couple of steps behind you, just to make sure you'll be safe :lurker: Mind you, I've read the 1st 2 books myself and I did like them. I just can't stand the hype, it's doing me head in! I think you might actually like the books. Just keep in mind that the actual writing is very poor and the characters' dialogue is whack (at least the leading pair. I can't believe I can't remember their names )

As for Dex, I cannot believe it was the little fella who D might be advising in the future :icon_eek: I had totally forgotten about that. Are you onto the next book already?

And don't feel too bad about the carrot cake, sometimes these things can't be avoided! Besides, you got your points system, you can still make up for it. You could go for a walk or save some points today. The points system is pretty great I think, my friend lost 30 kg with it :)

  7. They sure did, everything and all the way. Of course we weren't shown the actual... actions but they were implied and discussed :icon_eek: Makes me wanna take a neverending shower, yuck!

Are you sure you'll be paid on Friday and not on Tuesday? If that's the case then heck yeah  booky party on! :D

First night of BB is always definitely the best. Last season we had the most outrageous people ever, a girl who had a BF back home got drunk and gave a fella a handy work, on the 1st night!! I think it's sometimes like they think they have to beat every other season and make it wilder and better. And we've seen everything already, I'm really starting to hope things'll be calmer this year. And last season we had like at least 1-2 visitors in there every week!! That's not seclusion!!! I hate that.

  8. Tim is really bland and lame compared to Jim! We shouldn't even talk about them on the same day. I haven't seen the episode where Jim put Dwight's desk in the toilet, not the whole episode anyway but I have this faint recollection of it and it being funny. I must see that whole episode some day!! The George Foreman grill episode doesn't ring any bells though. I'm seriously thinking about ordering the whole DVD set online :tong:

I know what your BF means, Karen's okay in her own right but she doesn't compare to Pam! And I'm so annoyed Jim's flirting with her. Is he a series-office-workmate-flirt? :( I've just seen episode 4 and he spent the whole day searching for those special chips for Karen. :motz: Pam on the other hand knew why Michael got so upset about Trucker's death and gave a great speech at the bird's funeral. Bless her :smile2:

Did you mean Michael getting coffee from the 'warehouse'? It was hilarious  Pam was awesome, "With milk and sugar, please?" :haha:

  9. To be quite honest I'm absolutely terrified of the idea of going abroad to work. The idea of having to organise the whole thing (the job, the living arrangements) all by myself seems overwhelming. I'm also in a point in my life where I lack self-confidence so much and feel so incompetent and incapable of doing anything, that I have no idea how I'm going to do all this. (I suffer from depression at the mo which effects things) I know that it's the opportunity of a lifetime and I'll surely enjoy myself when I get there but I'm dreading the whole thing beforehand =/

I'm quite decided on coming to England though, and one of the reasons is that it's closest and cheapest to travel to and of course I'm interested in the country itself. Other than that I don't know, I'm quite open for different locations. I guess the location doesn't matter as long as I get a decent job somewhere.

  10. Too addicted to BCF, is there such a thing?? The only problem I have with BCF is that mount TBR is getting too huge... That's a very common thing on here though, I've heard.

Too bad about the hour's sleep, you must be feeling a bit groggy :friends0: Take it easy luv, and maybe you could have a nice nap when you get home.

  11. We were utterly shocked as well by what happened yesterday, I can't even begin to describe it. What's more, it was only about 11 months ago when the last school shooting in Finland took place. It just doesn't seem possible that something like this could happen in Finland, which has supposedly been a safe country to live in so far.

I live in the Eastern part of Finland and the shooting happened in Kauhajoki which is in the West, so it wasn't close to where I live. I'm also lucky that I don't have any relatives or friends in that area.

  12. Well as a Gaiman fan you must get your hands on The Graveyard Book soon! :smile2: Neverwhere is also on my list, but I haven't managed to find it yet as an English version. I'm also keen on reading Good Omens but that's the exact book which my BF has at the moment, he's had it for 2 months now and he still hasn't even started it!

I started The Pyjama Boy last night and it is quite gloomy, but you were right, it's also light in the way it's written, I really like it! I can't wait to finish it! But really, how could you dislike the little cute 9 year old boy  That's harsh *LOL*

  13. Well as we have nothing very interesting on TV, I've made my BF download me Daisy of Love (Daisy as in Daisy from Rock of Love where Poison singer Brett was looking for love) and Megan Hauserman wants a millionaire (Megan's been in Beauty and the Geek, Rock of Love and I Love Money). Megan's show got cancelled because one of the contestants is sought for murdering a playboy model who he was married to, and wow I just searched the Internet and apparently he's been found dead. Wow these things have really taken a turn :icon_eek: I think the whole thing is really upsetting :( Last week I was happy to find out the show had begun and now it's cancelled, an innocent woman is dead and the suspect's apparently killed himself.

I gotta say the books you said you have don't really sound like much after reading Sookie! I hope you get your mojo back, you really need to find something that's in the same league as Sookie!!

  14. Well how coud I miss your rebel 70's?? If things are gonna get even crazier than they already are it's definitely worth seeing

Bummer, I have nothing to eat in the fridge or freezer, would I be an awfully awful person if I went to get me a nice little pizza from the groceryshop close by? I'd be adding some nice garlic, onion, and cheeze... Saliva just started gushing out of me mouth! Drownage! Drownage!

  15. Well I have to say that we read very different kind of books as children(/teens) I'm glad you're enjoying your treasures though :D Doubling up on the books shelves sucks but I'm sure you'll get used to it because you're probably buying a lot of books for the summer and you'll need that space. Besides, you may even forget what you have on the back row of books and be happily surprised some day when you find books there that you haven't read

Yeah I noticed you on the first sentence of current book -thread so you definitely have read at least one sentence!! However, that doesn't score any points with me!! :irked: Now, gimme two more sentences asap or I'll have your trainer making your Body Blast lessons twice as long!! :D

  16. Well I sure know what you mean. Changing your settings, discussing important books on your fave forum and taking the Daily Quiz gets easily in the way of Uni work :tong: And yeah, isn't this place amazingly friendly? I've been here since last August-September, and I'm still occasionally surprised how pleasant these people are. There no forum like BCForum.

You added about 15 to your TBR already?? Oh my, just wait till you've been here a couple of months longer

I managed to finish The Black Dahlia today, I'm thinking I might start James Ellroy's memoir called My Dark Places, or maybe I'll go with John Boyne's The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. I think I have too many books to choose from, the choosing gets harder and harder each time I'm supposed to start another book... :)

  17. Well it's been a couple of days but I think it was 2 AM or 3 AM when I posted so that makes you.... so and so many hours ahead. Or behind? Oh man I'm not even sure if Australia is ahead of us in days+time  I've got some poor skills in geographics =/

Thank you for the PM by the way, I'll get back to you on it later. I hope you are well :D

  18. Well nobody ever talks about mooncups and they're important for females and the environment!

(Wooo do you really smoke? When you've had something to drink? We should quit that but it's too good... =/)

Do you really think I need coffee?? I'm hyper as it is!! I was just about to come and tell you I think I'm too vocal about things right now and need to go to bed before I irritate the ass of off everyone...

  19. Well this should make you think of winter!! Am I right?

Uuh, redecorating, that must be fun for you :)

  20. Well why should you know how to spell Finnish :) Must be confusing, having both a Markus and a Markku!

That's a typical Swede girl for you, they're so beautiful there's no denying. The Swedish guys are really cute as well ;) Actually, you remind me so much of a Finnish girl I know it's crazy! :) And don't sell yourself short, you're beautiful!

  21. Well, I had ordered Breaking Dawn before New Years so it's a legal buy, and Hunchback and A Suitable Boy were totally on my TBR before I bought them. And, Terry Pratchett is just something that you cannot just pass without buying. I think this answer should satisfy you!

Yep I seem to be reading quickly now but that's probably just because Metamorphosis was really short as well as Jekyll&Hyde. I don't know how I'm gonna manage A Suitable Boy, there's 1270 pages...

  22. Well... Um... But the books cost me like 7,5 euros alltogether, I just couldn't leave them behind!! They would have been lonely and cried and haunted me for the rest of my life... And after I've gotten Breaking Dawn from play.com I promise I won't buy more books for at least ... two weeks?

Although... I just might get Montanari's The Rosary Girls and make you more jealous for reading him for the first time too... ;) But don't be mad, you have Dexter now!

I'm a bit confused about the Gerritsen books and their order. Aren't there at least two different series? (Like Cornwell has Scarpetta and the other series which I haven't read) I'll have to google it.

BTW, is your mojo still missing? I so hope you're cured by now! :friends0:

  23. What do you mean, redecorate my prof page, I've never even decorated for once  I think it would be too high tech for me to try doing something like that. And bloody hell my av is the coolest, that bad boy James is soooo sexy!!! Mmmmm....He could snack on me anytime ^^

There are as many as 9 Sookie books?? Wow, I had no idea. I keep seeing you starting yet another book by Harris and I think to myself is there no end to the series :) Good to know there's plenty of them, if I start liking them!

If you're not against ... erm... *coughdownloadingfromtheinternetcough* then you can just do that with True Blood. That's what some of ... the people I might know are doing.

Your avs are always artsy and I believe you're better off without asking me for advice there

  24. What, has the forum really been that quiet? Even peacefield said that not much has been going on. I guess it's the summer? Ooooh I see you've gone for another Deaver book, good for you!

I definitely didn't know Jeff Lindsay is on Facebook and I'm such a newbie there I would never have thought to check if he's there  I wonder why your message didn't who up, hmph! But do write to him, and maybe you could ask him to be a guest on BCF!! That would be wicked. (BTW when I get the chance to re-sign in in Facebook may I be so bold as to add you as my friend =P

Weird that you're not celebrating Midsummer in N.I, I thought it was a pretty global thing. Although I guess it wouldn't make sense in let's say Africa where there always comes dark at the same time and sun gets up at the same time, I think. See, in the most nothern parts of Finland the sun doesn't actually set down in the very mid summer :) (And the sun doesn't come up in the very mid winter... brrrrghh!)

  25. What, only 3406 posts? That should keep you busy for a while. Why, you could take a lovely little break from the moving, have a nice cuppa and spend some quality time in the forum. Since you hate moving so much!! I guess I'm the only one with my friend K who actually love moving, we've been there to help each other move a couple of times and it's so much fun with her cause she likes it too. We've joked about putting up a little moving firm ourselves

Camping might be fun but involuntary camping in a house because of the lack of a kitchen sink does not sound like fun. It must be so rewarding having things coming around finally! Not to mention the internet!! I wonder what people used to do in the 'good old days' before the internet and the TV. What, like, read??! :tong: I know I know, we love our reading but we also love talking about it and chatting with nice people and now that we've found our place to do it, reading just doesn't feel the same without popping in at BCF!
