  1. Oh my word Kinga  She didn't!!! I just youtubed it. Oh my  I'd be so embarrassed after that, though I would never-ever do anything like that in the first place!!! The vid stopped when she said she was going to *** on the grass and we were shown that she went to lie down on the grass with the wine bottle. Wonder what happened next and how far she went with it. Why on the bloody grass??? I mean if you need to ... relieve yourself, please do it in bed under the covers and make it look like nothing's happening and be discrete about it :icon_eek:

So far nothing drastic has happened in our BB which I take to be a good sign. Too extreme beginnins just leave us with nothing to look forward to because we've seen it all.

  2. Oh yeah and the mental type: I suffer from depression and the meds I've been taking for 1,5 years didn't work anymore and have been trying out new meds which have not been any better either. But worry not, I have an appointment with a psychiatrist and I have total confidence that she'll find something that'll suit me better :)

Yep, I'm excited about The R Girls and Dexter as well :smile2: and I just noticed that the fourth Dexter (D by Design) came out 19th of Feb in UK so I will order that one too.

Yeah I noticed you've been reading that Charlaine Harris' series. I read your review on it and it seemed really interesting and well, I did order that one too from play.com  Hey, everybody seems to be reading it, and you as well, so it can't be bad! I definitely wouldn't be ordering this much from play.com if it weren't so damned cheap! (I usually go for the used ones)

  3. Oh you're allergic too, that's gotta be even more difficult for you because you do have a dog to go to =/

I don't think I could settle for anything other than a dog, dogs tickle my fancy and while I do like other animals, I don't like them enough to want to have them. Well a hedgehog might be an exception... But you never know :)

  4. Oh you've actually been to Finland, great! Autumn's here and it's really pretty out there, with the tree leaves colouring. Soon they'll drop though and it'll get really dark. One either loves or hates the autumn here, there's no middle way :)

I've never travelled much, I've only done the typical ship cruises from Helsinki to Stockholm, and two years ago I spent one month in Denmark. But next year I'm coming to Great-Britain for 2-3 months to work, I'm pretty excited about that! I can't wait to hit the secondhand book shops :D

  5. Oh, I'm sorry about that spine operation, that can't have been nice. Are you okay now though? I hope so. Five weeks is a long time :irked:

Losing your mojo is a real bummer, I hate it when that happens. You go through your shelves and pick up books, put them aside, then start some of them but nothing engages you long enough. It can get really frustrating. Hopefully you'll recover soon! Sometimes going back to your favorite books or your childhood/teenage reads might help? By the way, I think your OH should be courteous enough to make a few trips to the library or book shops to get you something that might get you going again, now that you can't do that ;)

I've also noticed that after I joined BFC I read the forum more often than a book. I had to make a conscious decision to grab a book rather than spend all that time on the computer and I've made some progress now :)

  6. OMG, you really did fancy that boy if you were into him for 9 years!! I can't imagine. And the way he treated you! That must've been so annoying. The awkwardness of teenage boys in romantic relations :irked: But that guy must've really liked you, for being so resilient in asking you out even after being dumped everytime. Have you seen him now that you're adults? It would be interesting to ask him what the heck he was thinking!!

Floozies  I know what you mean, there were many of those in my class. They didn't only have different BFs every month, they didn't mind going after each other's BFs! This one group of 4 girls in particular, they all dated these 2 boys in turn for 3 years! Some of them even ended up with those guys twice or even 3 times! That's just wrong on every level. Especially since I never had any luck with boys :irked: I was 17 when I had my first BF.

Now must stop ramble and quit harassing you with endless messages

  7. On/off for 15 years? That's a long time :friends0: I'm glad that you were diagnosed as having post natal depression, there are so many women who've given birth and are depressed but don't know what's really going on. It makes all the difference to know exactly what's going on than just to feel bad and not know.

I remember you were recovering from a back operation last fall and couldn't really get around and about much. Weren't you in bedrest for many weeks? Those kinds of physical problems that limit normal life for longer periods of time are sure to bring one down =( I suppose it was around that time when you discovered BCF? At least one good thing came out of it :smile2: Good luck with the GP, I hope it'll work out for you!

  8. Oooh you finished it!! Wasn't it amazing!! :D I bet you didn't see it coming, the whodunnit in the end. Wow, amazing stuff!! I know what you mean about the Jodie character, I thought his and Stephen relationship was one of the best things in the book and I was gutted to find out what it was all about! Jeeez! I hope you leave your comments on the thread as well. I see you noticed the social group and joined already, goody! :smile2: The next one's The Empty Chair. I cannot wait to read that, but **** I have so many other books to read as well! The Vampire Lestat of course but also the Dexter books. I really need to figure out in which order to read all these books :irked:

Yeah I truly hope Lestat picks up soon!! Although I haven't even tried reading it today... :S

  9. Oooh, spooky new avvie!!

Okay I'm not going to take all the blame, but I am going to take most of it because it's been my turn to write you a PM!! There are so many things that I've wanted to comment on your last one, and so many things that I've been wanting to write you about, but I don't know why I haven't written to you already!! I'm a bad bad girl!! :( (BTW, my MSN isn't working at the moment and don't know why, so I haven't been able to be online there :()

I'm sorry to hear you haven't been that good lately, any particular reason? Or would you rather talk about it in private? :friends0: I've noticed you haven't been online on here that much but I've just figured maybe you prefer FB to BCF at the mo? If there's anything you want to talk about I'm here for you :friends0:

Have a nice night with your hubby! Catch you soon luv!!

  10. Ooooh, Fajitas... Sounds absolutely delicious! I love Mexican food... is that drool I see on my chin?

My pigging out day went okay I think. It seems like I ate a lot because I ate a doughnut, chocolate and nachos but 3 people were sharing the chocolate and 2 the nachos so all in all I didn't eat that much myself. Well there was a bit of drinking involved but I managed to keep that in moderation too and I did a lot of dancing so all in all I'm happy. The scales isn't happy though, no change from last week :( That's a real bummer but I have to get over it and jump back on the saddle!

May Day? I thought May Day was the 1st of May? Maybe it's different over there. Weird stuff, these bank holidays :) They make no sense and nobody knows what they are for but we sure don't mind having the day off! :D

Edit: Did I forget to ask you where you at with Dexter??

  11. Oooooh, the whole summer to read!!! That's my idea of a good holiday! :)

I started Darkly Dreaming Dexter on Sunday and finished it last night but it's really quick and enjoyable to read so you might even devour it in one sitting if there are no interruptions! :) I read that one in Finnish, I have Dearly Devoted Dexter in English so it might take me a bit more time.

I know your impatient with Lestat because you asked me twice if you could spill the beans  But you being so eager makes me think if there was something interesting happening in the end so I'm a bit more interested in it now. I've never had such mixed feelings about a book: I want to love it, and at first I do, then I don't, then it picks up again, then it's really boring, then I quit, then I want to pick it up again. Poor Lestat! :D

  12. Our winters have become less severe as well. Do you think it's because of global warming? I wouldn't mind having mild winters in the future but I don't want polar bears dying and whatnot :(

    The Bront

  13. Peep Show is definitely good! But it's weird, it's one of the shows that you won't take the time to watch in particular, but when you do, you wonder why you hesitated before because it's brilliant. I'm a moron :( I quite fancy Mark  And David Mitchell. I don't think I've seen the episode you were talking about. Finn TV hasn't shown all of the seasons :irked:

BTW, I'm reading Ann Rule's The Stranger Beside Me – The Shocking Inside Story of Serial Killer Ted Bundy. It's really creepy and revolting but can't put it down! Ann Rule used to work with Ted in a Crisis Center before Ted started ”doing his thang”. She's a crimewriter and used to be a cop so she was on good terms with police force and they shared some confidential info with her regarding to the murders and she was going to do a book about them. Little did she know her friend Ted was behind all of it! Creeeeepyyyy!!! If you're into true crime books this book is definitely a must!

  14. Phew, I don't feel stupid :D 5000 doesn't seem like a lot though :/

Your brother seems like a typical brother, just like mine. Sometimes I wish I had a sister instead. Or at least a younger brother, so I would have some kind of authority...

  15. Phew! I knew I should've never expected you to have a Twilight avatar never ever, because you have more sense than that! Besides, you have taste :drama:

I figured Hunchie might be boring  And I totally agree we still have time to read Hunchie, and I was a bit surprised to be called out for not having commented on the Hunchie thread on the 10th of May or so. Yeah I suppose they say in the rules that you should read the book before the month is up but I don't think you can really expect that from everybody because situations vary! Like you didn't have your copy until recently. I think that's a very good reason for not starting earlier. To be honest I didn't feel like reading Hunchie at all after reading that thread...

There are nine Sookie books on their way??? I know they're not the thickest of books and I suppose they are quick reads but still! Are you really going to read all of them and nothing else?

  16. Pssst!

When I was looking for Barclay's books online I accidentally ordered Murikami's Norwegian wood as well ... :giggle: I thought you'd be interested to know. Thanks for speaking for Murikami, I'm glad to have found him eventhough I've only read Sputnik Sweetheart :D (I really had to check myself not to order more of his books...)

    Good night Gyre! :Zzzz:

  17. She has been here before? I didn't know that. What we're dealing with here is a very powerful forum indeed! I just hope she's not coming until I've had the time to read The Surgeon

I didn't know that about the elephants and raised trunks, pure coincidence. I was just googling animal&love because I wanted to find cute pics of different types of animals getting together. When I saw that pic I immediately wanted to have it as my avatar :) Maybe it'll bring me some luck too, I've had a couple of rough months. But things are looking up now, I think :) But how are you? It feels like I haven't chatted with you in ages which is probably true, I haven't been feeling very sociable lately... =/

  18. frankie

She sounds like a real matriarch, maybe someone like Richard Gilmore's mother and Lorelai and Rory's grandmother in Gilmore Girls, only hopefully nicer =D

My mom lives in a small town and doesn't have many friends other than her sisters, and her mother was that way too. Sometimes I wonder if I'll be the same when I get older because I am a private person and sometimes reserved. But I don't wish to be like that, I wish to be something like your grandmother, too! Or rather like my BF's mother, she's incredibly active socially and otherwise. To be still able to giggle at life and oneself when older would be nice :) The part about your grandmother making you change before dinner is hilarious =D

Yep nordic novels are easier to find in Finnish than in English. Reading nordic novels every now and then is like coming home, they are so different from British or American or other foreign novels.

If you like funny novels, I highly recommend Ingvar Ambjørnsen's novels of Elling (you may have heard of the Elling movies?), there's at least two in Finnish, Tiputanssi and Veriveljet.

  19. Sorry for the numerous posts, again, but I did a little wikipedia research and it turns out that Dexter by Design will be released quite soon actually! Amazon.so.uk has announced that the release date is Feb 5th!

Another Dexter trivia, this time the TV-series related. Jennifer Carpenter who plays Debra Morgan, Dexter's sister is really really talented and she's one of my favorite actors in Dexter. A couple of months ago I discovered that Michael C. Hall (who plays Dexter) is dating her, which felt a bit weird because they play sister and brother in the tv-series, but otherwise I was kinda glad to find that out because I like both. Now, according to Wikipedia it

  20. Sorry you lost your first reply, it's so annoying when something like that happens!! If you noticed, BFC decided to post my latest reply too before I was fully finished writing it.

Don't worry, there were no biscuits or cakes involved. I'm trying to lose some pounds too you know. I'm trying out this low carb diet which means lots of meat, eggs and other kind of protein for me, and no goodies, bread, rice/macaroni/potatoes for me. And no alcohol! It's pretty tough so I know what you're going through with your own plan and I feel for you :friends0: Stay strong, sister!

  21. Sure I want to know about swimming and stuff  I was at my cousin's wedding this weekend and that's why I've been offline and haven't replied to you message yet. And I don't have time to reply it now either, I'm off to bed and will be getting up early to do my voluntary Ilosaarirock festival duties tomorrow, so I'll get a free ticket to the festival itself. I'll have to write you later :)

How was your weekend and how've you and the missus been? :)

  22. Thanks Catwoman, it's okay to walk now if I just don't put full pressure on the toes of my left foot. I think it'll be good in a couple of days :) I guess my panic of injuring myself badly added to the pain, but I'm quite alright now :)

Good to have you back by the way! Did you manage to go out when you were visiting your parents? At least you got the Dexter book finished, I'm so glad you enjoyed it :D

  23. Thanks for the info, I'll see if Knots and Crosses is available in my library!

You're so lucky to have met a writer whose work you enjoy so much! That's not very likely to happen to me, as I mostly read foreign novels and foreign writers don't tend to visit Finland :P

  24. Thanks Kookie :) How've you been doing?

Awww poor horsie, what a sticky situation :(

  25. Thanks Kylie! :D I had a nice birthday with a couple of friends, activities including going to my favorite charityshops to look for books  Today I'm throwing a little party and I'm getting quite nervous, I don't particularly like playing hostess but I'm trying to remember that the people that I invited are my friends and it's really not that serious!

    Have a really nice weekend!
