Don Quixote - two hundred and ten pages down... and no, I don't think I will go back to it!

My girlfriend's just got into audiobooks and has a birthday coming up. She's very involved in our local drama group. For this reason, I'm curious to know if there are any audio books out there that are a bit different (eg come with some kind of music soundtrack, use different characters voices etc)? Forgive my ignorance. Just thought I'd ask the experts!

This is an interesting thread. I'd always assumed there was a format on the timescale of hardbacks being followed by paperbacks. Does beg the question in these environmentally friendly times: Are hardbacks necessary anymore?

I worked in Waterstones for a few months. It was great but a little bit like being a kid in a sweet shop and I just got too distracted! I did once have a job del;ivering the Yellow Pages too. Does that count?

Old books is a problem. I spent a year abroad a couple of years ago and had to get rid of 200 books (just hadn't realised how much space/weight they would take up and my mum's loft only had so much space) when I moved. I still wish I had kept some of them:irked:
