    Hey Dahlin'!

I'm fine, thank you! And you? I'm in NY. *laughs* DD's maybe flying to Europe later in the week, so I might just wait for few days and bum a lift. And I fell in love with pilates, so I might stick around for few more classes... (btw, I have no deeper abdominal muscles. None. I told them to do something, and nothing happened. So they must be missing. Oddly enough I experienced some soreness around that region the following day. It must have been ghost pain, you know, like those who've had their leg amputates feel it itch and stuff? Yeah, must have been that...)

Oooh, you're in for a treat! The oompa-loompa's are brilliant! Enjoy the movie!! *passes over some popcorn*

I've heard of Elling movies, but not books. I didn't know they were based on books! I'll trade you, and offer Erlend Loe in return. Fakta om Finland (Tosiasioita Suomesta) and Naive.Super (Supernaiivi) are both hilarious! And only a Finn, or someone who knows Finnish culture, can really truly understand Fakta om Finland...

I guess that's one of the problems of small towns, it's sometimes hard to find your own social circle when there really is only one! But I think you'll be fine. First off, you know how you want to be when you're old, so you can affect that now. They say acknowledging the problem is the first step and all... Gosh my jokes are bad today!

Okay... remember, I told you these are ridiculously impractical and frivolous!

I cannot put a link here, so just go to sergiorossi.com, they're right there on the front page!

If you want a more detailed look, go to the US pages (just click any of the links), select 'Collections' from the upper navigation, and Women's, and Fall/Winter 2008. It opens the boots directly. It's the third last. *grin*

    Hi Frankie,

sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, yesterday turned out pretty crazy for me in the end. *laughs*

It has nothing to do with my friends here at the forum, friends like you. I will miss you all, for sure. And I do hope we'll stay in touch.

They are pretty! And surprisingly comfortable. Can't use them anywhere, but I just had to have the the minute I saw them.

And anytime. Shoes are one of my favourite conversations topics, after all! *grin*

    Hi!

Thank you! It's nice to know I was missed. And it's really nice to be back.

    How are you?

  7. Oh, that's nice!

    Hi to you too!

How are you finding the forum?

  8. Inver, actually it was pretty easy in the end. the "unnatural" colours made it easy to decide to go full-on brights, and the gray came to balance it all.

    Kell - thank you!

  9. I like your new profile... *grin* How's the Iliad?

  10. I have. It's a nice relaxing place to chat about books (and everything else!) that's not tied to a place. I like things I can do in several locations as I travel a lot, so a book club that has fixed meetings at a certain place is pretty impossible for me.

What types of books do you enjoy the most? Have you taken part in any of the reading circles yet, for example?

    Hi!

The weekend was fine, thank you. It was nice to see Old Dragon again, I keep forgetting that she's not going to be around forever (although if she could decide...) and that I should enjoy her company while I can. I managed to get more done with my thesis than I should have at the expense of my exam, so... Thank you, I'm going to need it! *laughs* Oh well, if it won't go well, there's one more go, and also my favourite "crying at the department, begging for alternative method of completing the course" -thing... I'm much better at written assignments, anyway.

I know what you're saying about A Complicated Kindness. It kind of stays with you for a while.

    How was your weekend, btw??

Off to bed now, as I can't type anymore, my little finger is killing me. And I think it's now starting to get swollen. It's a bit slow, don't you think? It's been like a week and now it goes "I'm hurt, I should swell up, right?" Idiot finger. *curses skiing* I blame Ski Guy.

  12. Hong Kong?? Wow, that's really exciting! And it's a good place, no? I mean, civilised, rather western but yet exotic... I'm really thrilled for you two! (of course, still no martinis for the two of us...)

I'm good, thank you. I have an exam in few hours, and after that chicken tortillas and pink champagne with My Friend With Huge Boobs, whom I haven't seen in ages! So it'll be fun! (And a good consolation for now being in

  13. Hi Sweetheart!

I actually emailed you today, totally out of the blue, can you believe it?!

How are you? I've missed you, believe it or not. I was lounging on the yacht, hanging out with some great people, and thought to myself "Beth should be here"...

I didn't really have anything to say, just dropped by to say hi. So... Hi.

  14. ii

Back to every-day life, I suppose? I just wonder, where did the summer go?? Wasn't it just June??

Is K excited about school picking up again?

In a way I envy your routine, I miss that. I'm in a free fall myself, wih things i need to do, but pretty much on my own to do them. And I've found I'm really not familiar with the concept of self-dicipline. *grin* Resulting in "oh, but of course I can work on my thesis at BF's!" and "shopping in the morning will wake me up and make me more effective in the afternoon, right?"

Did you go somewhere for holiday?

  15. ii

    *laughs* Glad I could help.

  16. Yes, well, what better reason to go to Hong Kong than martinis... *laughs*

Thank you. It's not my favourite topic at all, but I think I can swing it. I'm taking a bit of a risk, so let's hope the questions go my way. I only know part of the stuff, you see... Thank you!

Oh, just Paris. My best friend H is moving, so naturally I have to go help (read: sit on the floor watching the movers while wearing my pretty hard hat, eating grapes and drinking champagne)... Should be fun!

  17. I got your reply, thank you. The one with actual words in it, too! *laughs*

Aww, poor thing. Try yoghurt. Or put a jar of body lotion in the fridge for a few hours. That should help. ...

I'm so lost on everything that's happened on the forum, I need a recap. *laughs* Anything I should know about?

  18. Thank you, Andrea.

I'm sorry to leave too. In the end I didn't feel I had any real option, though.

Maybe now things will be less, shall I say volatile around here. *dry smile*

I'll miss your comments, that's for sure!

    *kisses*

    Hi!

    How are you?

You liked Kathy Reichs, right? Have you read Break no bones? 'Cause I got it a little while ago and thought I'd give it a try as I adore Bones on TV, but I didn't get into it at all. (Turns out I only like the show because of the guy playing Booth. Should have guessed...) So if you haven't read it, I'd be happy to drop it off in the post and send it over once I get back to Finland. It's of no use to me.

Just drop me a line, if you're interested.

    *kisses*

While I'm flattered that you'd think me being up to something is a sign of great evil, the truth is nowhere near as fashinating. I was simply away a lot, spent a bit over a week in Southern France and thereabouts on our annual "Boat Week" (we insist on calling the yacht a 'boat', as we know it drives J crazy. It's seriously a huge bad-a** yacht.) and then flew in to spend Independence Day with DD and his friends... So, I've just been away...

And really there hasn't been much to say around here... And that, I believe, goes for both prospero and me.

Glad to know I've been missed, though. I did feel slightly ignored before the Boat Week around here...

  21. ii

Thank you for your concern, all is indeed well with me. I'm having fun with some friends and Henry, my camera, so keeping busy.

    And how are you?

  22. ii

    Hi!

I'm glad you're enjoying the movie. The rhythm is very different than in the new one, yes. And I love the songs.

Oh, pilates is great, I really enjoy it! It's not as horrible as it sounds. I really like the fact that it's not one of those things where you get all sweaty and gross, but it's more calm yet totally energizes you up. You're not tired and exhausted after a class, but full of energy, and in good mood. I strongly recommend it!

We are?? *is really scared now* No no no, sounds fashinating! I can't wait! I have no idea of what to send, though... Or maybe I do, I could after all go all Finnish on you... *gets busy planning*

    Hi Janet!

We have indeed missed each other, it seems. Probably 'cause I was in the States and therefore online 1) very little and 2) late your time. I'm fine, thank you. I finally returned home over the weekend. It's good to be back here, although I did love being in NY.

How are you? I have to confess, I didn't read the "what's up" thread, as it was pages after pages of new posts, so I'm sorry if I've missed something important. If so, I hope it was good important instead of bad!

    *kisses*

Oh, yes, I read about your troubling day! I'm so sorry! Poor you... Are you feeling any better at all? If you ask me (and of course you do, as I'm the Fountain of Wisdom, everyone knows that!), skipping school tomorrow is a really good plan. Give yourself, and your body, some time to rest. It cannot fight the cold if you're overworking it all the time.

Slipping the essay under the door wasn't an option?

    Get well soon!!

    *hugs*

p.s. Think of it like this: having a cold and staying home means you can read more...

    Hi!

    Feeling any better?
