How lovely to meet someone from the north-east on here. My mother was born in Ryhope, near Sunderland, which was formerly in Co.Durham, now in Tyne & Wear. So I have always maintained a soft spot for the area. Hope you are enjoying the BCF, love your avatar

That spider was in my bath just as I was going to turn on the shower and I ran out screaming. OH just reached for the camera. Have you noticed the hairs on its legs??Eough!!!!

Welcome YB77. I hope you will like this forum and look forward to reading any posts you make. What kind of books do you read?
-
They never do even when they are all grown up. The best thing that happened to me on my birthday was my grandson ringing me to wish me a Happy birthday as soon as he got in from school without being told to!! He is nearly 16.

I wonder where in the North East you are?? My mother's family came from the Sunderland area and I have friends in Alnwick. I also love Bamburgh Castle.

I am glad you liked the bridge picture Nici. Midhurst is a really lovely place. One of those villages/towns that typifies England

Sad to say, I no longer have a dog let alone a labrador:irked:. My last one went to the labrador heaven in 1995. I have had 2 labbies in my time and broke my heart when they had to go. The one in the photo is not mine just a photo I found that I liked. Mine were both yellow(golden). Have you read the book Marley and Me? If not please give it a go, you will recognise your dog in it I am sure and it will of course make you cry. If I did get another dog, it would have to be a small dog because at 72, I dont think I would have the strength to handle a labbie. I never pass one in the street, I always make a great fuss of them and labbie owners are the same the world over. I support Dog for the Blind in this country, particularly because my last labbie Luke, was bred from those dogs. Give your dog a hug for me . All the best

Hi Paula, what do you think of the tennis so far? Andy Murray seems to be doing ok so far. Roger Federer is playing like a dream. BBC showed a short documentary of him called "The making of a champion" or something like that. It was really good. He was a proper firecracker when he was young and very spotty (tell Philip) Hope you are all well

Thanks Rennie, its a bit difficult to put it at the top at the moment I am in the middle of Mansfield Park and I have "After You'd Gone' from Inver's bookring, then today I received the free book from Headline!!! Phew! But I have made a note of your comments and will consider it when I am looking for a book to read.
