  1. I decided to put Prick Up Your Ears ~ The Biography of Joe Orton by John Lahr aside for the moment, I could not get into it ******* When the Wind Blows by James Patterson ~ Started: 05.12.09 ~ Finished: 06.12.09 Frannie O’Neill, a young and talented veterinarian whose husband was recently murdered, comes across an amazing discovery in the woods near her animal hospital. Soon after, Kit Harrison, a troubled and unconventional FBI agent, arrives on Frannie’s doorstep. And then there is eleven-year-old Max – Frannie’s amazing discovery – and one of the most unforgettable creations in thriller fiction. This is the first adult book I have read by James Patterson, having previously read the first two books in the 'Maximum Ride' young adult series. 'When the Wind Blows' is the same idea as the Maximum ride series but they are not connected (as I previously thought). I found it hard to put 'When the Wind Blows' down because it was so exciting, you did not know what was going to happen next. An interesting read because what happens in the book is currently happening within science over the world, the book highlights the lengths that people will go to, to get what they want. The characters are well written, Frannie, the main character was easy to like because she was so realistic. An interesting read.
  2. Yip everyone buy volvos
  3. From Stepheniemeyer.com ~ Q ~Why in the world is Edward's volvo now black in the New Moon? - Kim B. A ~ This wasn't my call. Picky as I am about cars, if I'd been rounding up the vehicles for Twilight, they all would have been the exact makes and models I'd written about (especially that '53 Chevy!). I don't know what all is involved with choosing the cars
  4. I don't know Chesil, time, money, it wasn't their car
  5. Its the newest model of the original silver volvo and they don't make them in silver, I don't know why they did not get another silver car
  6. Because volvo stopped making that particular model in silver
  7. I did, it was fab!
  8. Not to worry, she is coming back
  9. I am the same Kell! who uses that kind of ladder for that particular job!
  10. Grave Secret by Charlaine Harris ~ Started: 02.12.09 ~ Finished: 04.12.09 Synopsis ~ When she was 15, Harper Connelly was struck by a bolt of lightning, which left her with a spiderweb of red over her body, headaches, and episodes of weakness. Sometimes her right hand shakes. And she can find dead people. It's taken a while, but at last Harper's pretty happy with her life: she's making a living, using her unique talent to help people, and she's got a lover - her stepbrother Tolliver. That creeps some people out, but though they grew up together, and got each other through the real bad times - their parents' drug-use, the abuse, the disappearance of Harper's elder sister Cameron - they're not blood relatives. Then Tolliver's dad arrives on the scene, seeking forgiveness for the sins of their youth, and the police get a tip-off that after all these years, Cameron's been spotted in a mall. With all this going on Harper realises life is getting a little complicated, but she doesn't expect those complications to include Tolliver getting shot, or watching a cop die taking a bullet for her. Harper can find dead people, but now it's clear someone wants her dead . . . ‘Grave Secret’ is the fourth (and possibly) the final book in the Harper Connelly series. I cannot say too much about the book because it is part of the book ring, what I will say the story is brilliant, again Harper and Tolliver are investigating a case which unfortunately is closer to home that they think. There is some unexpected twists and I honestly did not expect the ending because again as always with Harper Connelly books, I am so sure I know who the culprit is and it turns out to be someone else, its one of the great things about Charlaine Harris, she certainly knows how to surprise her readers. As much as I enjoy the Sookie Stackhouse series also by Charlaine Harris, I think Harper is a stronger character which is great to read. I hope there will be another book in the series. I will leave by saying, I hope everyone enjoys the book within the book ring and that everyone else takes the opportunity to read the Harper Connelly series.
  11. Seriously hen, you have to nag me, I am terrible for not remembering to post things :) x

  12. I loved the scene with Jacob and Paul fighting as wolves, I thought t was cool how the hit the 'camera' as the rolled into the woods I love the Thom Yorke song ~ 'Hearing Damage', it suited the scene so much with Victoria
  13. Hi hen, how are you? The books are finally on their way ~ yay! :) x

  14. I will get back to you about the soundtrack
  15. I don't care what anyone says I Edward, I am comfortable with my decision
  16. True Nollaig, is just plain old obsession for Edward:D I liked Jasper's wig
  17. I do conceed Nollaig, its not normal but it does happen, I think it goes back to the intensity of Edward's feelings, which are kind of scary because he is willing to kill himself, the instensity he feels block the rational part of the brain that says, 'you know life goes on' and I don't think it is the rarest thing on the list, a lot of people kill themselves for love but it is always in the most extreme circumstances and it is not about love, its about their need to feel something, allbeit briefly, its a immediate reaction which results in regret far too late. Edward is flawed, he is such an old soul but an intense one, he needs to chill out a bit and Jasper, well he is just Jasper, the boy has needs
  18. Jacob and Edward are very different, and as much as I like Edward, I see his flaws and at times, I have thought 'back off dude, she will work it out'. Not all people suicidal tendencies are in therapy and he wouldn't be because let's face it, they would know he is a vampire. It is really hard to define them without Edward and Bella looking like obsessed maniacs! And yet I still love the Edward
  19. love the cutsey Nollaig I admit I preferred Edward in the book, I thought he was funnier compared to the movie
  20. Hi Mia, I agree, Sally was creepy, she always looks so pleased with herself doesn't she? I wish someone would actually ask Sally's husband what the heck is going on? Stop being so cryptic!!!!
  21. Thank you so much for my present hen, excellent choice, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!! xxxx

  22. I received my Secret Santa present today, thank you Santa
  23. I agree with the first part Nollaig, great point, I think that Edward's main trait is the fact that he can't stop trying to define who he is and more importantly what he is. I think the mention of Romeo and Juliet, although slightly odd (and scary, intense) highlights how much he feels for Bella, the fact that he has thought of suicide is an option shows how much he loves Bella but at the same time, show the dependence he has on Bella. Jake did not abandon her but he still played on her emotions I think, Edward thought leaving Bella was the best option but it wasn't, lesson learned Edward. Plus we also have the virtual slap in the face from Jacob to Edward, there is not doubt that Jacob loves Bella but he hates the Cullens more. Jacob and Edward both have good points ~ thankfully
  24. The Iceland adverts, I think I hate Jason Donovan
