  1. Hello and welcome Candybar, I'll second Kell's recommendation about Stuart Macbride. I too like Karin Slaughter and also Martina Cole, Richard Montanari and Lisa Gardner, you can't beat a good crime novel! Your 'To Be Read' pile will definately increase whilst on here.
  2. I've read 40 so far this year, hoping to reach the 50 mark by Christmas!

  8. Stuart, loved the three Logan McRae books and so looking forward to reading 'Flesh House' when it comes out. My questions for you are... When you have time what do you like to read? Do you have a favourite genre or author?
  9. Finally managed to finish Smashed as it was due back at the library. I had high hopes for this book but for me it fell flat and I ended up thinking to myself why put yourself through it? Ah well did managed to come out of the library empty handed! Going to concentrate on reading some of Kat's books so she can have them back but first I'm starting my Penguin Classic Silent Spring by Rachel Carson. I have to admit I'm not looking forward to this as it isn't my type of book but needs must...lol
  10. Hello and welcome severnlad.
  11. On a normal day i try to average 30 - 50 pages a day, unless i'm totally engrossed then it's obvioulsly a lot higher. Struggling to find time to read at the moment what with running round after hubby and daughters hockey. (Mental note to self...need more ME time! )
  12. Yippee love that show
  13. Hello and welcome Adam.
  14. Well before I joined here it was strictly historical romance Lesley Pearce and Martina Cole. Now there are just loads of new authors I've discovered - Jodi Picoult, Karin Slaughter, Kathy Reichs, Stuart MacBride, Michel Faber our very own KW to name but a few. I still love my historical novels but now I'll read pretty much anything. I also have 2 dogs and a budgie, I'd love more pets but hubby says no!
  15. Hello KirstyKat and welcome.

  20. Thanks guys , still not managed any reading but did get out for a couple of hours to do some shopping! Mother in law coming round tomorrow morning to 'hubby sit' and make dinner whilst I take Hannah to a hockey tournament . Might sneak in a few pages whilst she plays.
  21. Hardly done any reading this week, hubby keeps finding things for me to do instead . Might have to invest in some sleeping pills for him so that I can get some reading done, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms
  22. Mine arrived today, Silent Spring, can't remember who by!
  23. Home made macaroni cheese with fresh bread and butter...heaven.
