Hi. So I have a question about a story.
this is for an assignment but I am struggling to figure out a detail about the part of the story.
The story is Beowulf. It is the part from when Grendel is killed to a little after his mother was killed.
When Grendel was killed his arm was ripped off at his shoulder and the arm was hung from the rafters.
After that Grendel’s mother comes and takes his arm with her.
Now here’s the part that confuses me.
When Beowulf goes to the cave, after he beats Grendel’s mother he goes and takes Grendel’s head.
No where in the text did it mention that she took the rest of his body. Or what Beowulf did with the rest of Grendel’s body.
can someone explain the disappearance of the rest of his body after he’s defeated and then reappearance of his body in the last scene? It is making no sense to me.
