I've just started watching Peaky Blinders which I'm a bit embarrassed about as it was set where I'm from in Birmingham and literally didn't watch any of it (the Black Country Living Museum where they filmed most of it is also just down the road from where I work).

I have the same problem too as I always prefer a physical book!! Also sometimes have to remind myself I already have the Kindle edition when I'm about to buy the physical one 🤣

I did a paper round whilst I was still at school too which I do like to think partially lead into my career.
I wanted to be a journalist whilst I was at school so when the weather was nice I remember reading the front pages of the newspapers on my way around. Though I didn't end up doing journalism as I fell into IT but in turn I discovered SEO which is ranking websites in Google and a lot of that involves writing content and articles which I've done for nine years now and I think reading those articles help me to learn to write content for websites that people want to read.

Today has been very hit and miss, some sunshine at times but also grey and overcast with some rain at others.
Also the clocks went back in the UK last night as Daylight Saving ended so we are plunged into darkness now until March - not mentally ready for late autumn/winter at all ❄️😂

I'm so glad most people on this thread have large TBR lists - makes me feel like I have less of a problem 😂.
I have a Bookstagram account and since then my TBR is out of control as I am always adding books onto the list - sometimes 5-10 a day although I do use my Bookstagram and Goodread accounts more to bookmark books than an actual intention to read them all, then if I want to choose a book I can take a look through them.
Although I am a massive impulse buyer and love a 99p book on Kindle as well!

If you don't feel quite ready to do a class yet I know on Zumba dot com they have prerecorded online classes where you can choose an instructor and they are one way so you don't need to worry about other people watching you on Zoom or anything or YouTube has a lot of videos for specific songs.
I would say in a live class though I'm virtually certain no one would judge you and speaking for myself as an instructor when I get the music and steps from Zumba it takes me more than a few attempts to copy what they are doing before I can even teach it in a class and the instructor would understand that too. Also the main thing for me is that the student has fun with it when they are in the class. ♥️

I was surprised as well especially as Connor and Sephy seem to be the main characters for the series but the rest of the series is definitely worth reading. I particularly like how the later books move with the times and more recent political events e.g. in the later books there is the first Nought prime minister which I'm sure was inspired by Barack Obama being the first black president as it came out during his presidency I believe.

During lockdown I did the course to teach Zumba as I love dancing. I also recently started doing Aerial Fitness at a circus academy (the aerial hoop and silks).

I've done spin as well before and it definitely kills - the leisure centre near where I work started doing Les Mills The Trip spin classes and my legs complained about it for a week afterwards 😂

It's really strange though as the films are a PG and I remember watching them when I was little with those scenes and they didn't bother me too much (Remember finding parts of Temple of Doom a bit scary especially when Indy is possessed but not too bad).

I was re-watching Indiana Jones and the Temple Of Doom on Sunday as it was on TV - admittedly I prefer Raiders Of The Lost Ark or The Last Crusade but was fun to watch, still love the mine cart chase and the bridge scene at the end, plus it's quite dark atmosphere and story (better than Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull anyway) 🤣

I read this book recently and did find it confusing as well, especially the second part as I didn't realise things like Antoinette gave her husband the potion but the book is interesting in how it takes a character from Jane Eyre and shows her slow descent into madness due to how coldly Mr. Rochester treats her in Jamaica.

I just wondered if anyone has read the Noughts and Crosses series by Malorie Blackman - I read them all recently and absolutely loved them.
The premise of the books is they are set in an alternate UK called Albion, where Noughts are white people and Crosses are black people, and in this world the Crosses are in charge whereas Noughts are former slaves and are frequently mistreated. Blackman wrote the book due to racism and bias that she experienced and they are really thought provoking, as well as gripping reads.
The series was also written over 20 years so the themes of the books often represent the changing times - the earlier entries have themes such as extremism and radicalisation of young people which were written against the backdrop of 9/11 and 7/7, whilst the later entries have similar events to Brexit and the Covid pandemic taking place.

Hi, welcome to the forum and I like crime novels as well, I'm currently reading Are You Awake by Claire McGowan which is about a missing girl called Samantha Ellis and a mother of two small children as well as a journalist with PTSD who are investigating her disappearance.
