Good topic to make first post.
Off the top of my head, my all time top 10 are (at the moment)
1 Laidlaw - William Mcilvanney
2 Catch 22 - Joseph Heller
3 Harry's Game - Gerald Seymour
4 One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kesey
5 The Wasp Factory - Iain Banks
6 Weaveworld - Clive Baker
7 A Prayer for Owen Meaney - John Irving
8 Gorky Park - Martin Cruz Smith
9 Selling Hiter - Robert Harris
10 Love in the Time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
When it comes to Laidlaw - really all the Jack Laidlaw books could be in the top ten.

I'm not a Bob Dylan fan, but his most recent album Rough and Rowdy Ways is pretty great. Very sparse arrangements with him crooning rather than singing over it all.
If I am not a fan why listen to this?
Because curiosity got the better of me. I thought it would be interesting to hear what a record by a 80 year old man would sound like. Especially an 80 year old man who has been making records since he was a teenager.
And whilst not identifying as a Bob Dylan fan, there is quite a lot of his work I do like. It's just there is just so much more that I find junk. A hell of a lot more. I mean, the guy makes triple albums of American Standards. Ouch. Painful.
