  1. Although I haven't read many novels recently, I have purchased some books from the late 1800s from some charity shops. I have a strange fascination with old books, and always end up perusing the shelves for some obscure, ancient relic.

If the charity is one that I actively support I sometimes offer to pay more than they're asking; any extra money is always welcomed!

  2. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep by Philip K. Dick are on the same vein as 1984, but wholly different. They're also smaller, so they're good to help get back into reading.

Sounds good. I shall check those out, thank you woolf woolf.

  3. Thinking back, I've not read a great deal of books. However, those that stick out to me are:

    • I Am Legend - Richard Matheson
    • Animal Farm - George Orwell
    • Nineteen Eighty-Four - George Orwell
    • The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
    • The Time Machine - H.G. Wells
    • The Harry Potter Series (up to Order of the Phoenix) - J.K. Rowling
  4. Hi!

I just joined in the hope that chatting about books can help motivate me to read more. I used to love reading when I was younger, but can't seem to get back into reading again.

The craving to pick up  a good book has started to grow and I'm trying to learn what types of book I'm interested in. - I keep reading blurbs and just keep thinking "meh, it sounds okay".
