  1. That totally makes sense, I have to be in the mood for him too. Congratulations on 7 books already!
  2. That is terrible that people ruined it for you! That happened to me with The Martian I don't read reviews or anything really, before I start a book, maybe the first bit on Amazon, but I never go too far, because sometimes they tell they whole story Take Me With You is indeed a good book, but I've enjoyed all her books I have read! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. IMO, Don't Le Me Go was my favorite so far. When I Found You was good too. But Take Me With You was great.
  3. I totally misunderstood, just excited about crafts I've never heard of quilling before, it sounds neat! I started crocheting (and knitting but that was really hard) for the same reason. Well, my scarf will probably be done my next winter Just kidding, I am hoping for spring
  4. Nope, he died in real life, a few years ago. I would never spoil!
  5. Good to see you liked Catherine Ryan Hyde. I haven't read Ask Him Why, but have read quite a few of her books. You do have a variety of genres, I like that you read a lot history too! We read different periods, but its always nice to see someone reading historical books
  6. Dystopian, of course Hm... I don't know, I'm not good at gathering and organizing people so much. I'll think about it Maybe when we read The Selection.
  7. Well, we do often read the same books (just not the fantasy stuff ) Probably not so much in the upcoming months, as I have some history coming up (and like fantasy isn't my thing, history isn't hers). We do have the Gone series going though and I think we have 3 left. Meeting Gaia is one of the best things that has happened to me over the past few years We actually got to meet in Amsterdam last year, which was fantastic. I'd love to do a group read! I wish we could do them monthly with votes, like we did when I first joined. I never took part in any.
  8. I'm picking up the US challenge as well! I've read 10, but have 3 on my TBR this year. It's interesting that you and I have read such vastly different books on the list. I totally thought you would have read Interview With a Vampire! Also, I think you will really like Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (and then watch the movie- its awesome). I actually cried when Hunter killed himself. What did you think of In Cold Blood? Have you read Breakfast At Tiffany's by any chance? Its too bad about Love in the Present Tense. CRH has a new book coming out called Leaving Blythe River in June, it sounds good. I thought you had read Don't Let Me Go, but if not, it's my favorite to date. For something shorter, Chasing Windmills was good.
  9. I only read paperless books If I absolutely must buy something, it comes from Amazon!
  10. You were missed Are you going to do the challenge all this year or space it out? I figure you could easy do 90 this year
  11. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (for the 1,000th time )
  12. Rutherford is one I have been meaning to get it for awhile now. I want to read Ruska, but I heard it was the weakest of them all? I don't usually read reviews, but Ruska, compared to Sarum, didn't get many positive reviews. I don't see how it could be bad though, I've heard such great things about his work.
  13. I'm kind of going through that with the book I am currently reading.
  14. I do this too- life is too short and there are too many books to read a drag of a book! I tried doing an abandon count last year, but I abandoned it
  15. I chose to read it first and its one of Gaia's favorite books, so she thought she would re read it. But we read it at separate times We do, though, often read the same books
  16. Ok, I might have stated this in my review, but I don't like his... I don't want to spoil it, but I will just say I don't appreciate his views on environmental effects on depression and the way he negates mental health. Still, it is his story, so if you want to know more about him, I highly suggest it.
  17. Don't dismiss some of the "Kings and Queens" history! There is Philippa Gregory's great historical fiction series, The Cousin's War. And also Robert K. Massie writes some wonderful historical books that are easy to read, I've read Peter the Great, Nicolas and Alexandra and hope to read Catherine the Great later this year. Anyway, welcome (properly) to the forum
  18. Yes, welcome, looking forward to seeing you more here
  19. No, no, stay with it, its worth it (at least it was to me). I think the twist is great and different. How far into it are you? Edited to add: I am now 60% into Elizabeth Wurtzel's More Now Again. I am past the worst of it but the next 40% isn't all that pleasant either. Still, I feel like now was the time to re-read it. I'm like the majority, I'm not sure I will do many re-reads this year.
  20. I've always wanted to make a quilt, what colors are you using? Are you doing a design or blocks? I am into crocheting, but just started like you. Started a scarf a few days ago, I only pick it up in between other things I am doing, so it doesn't go very fast Very impressed you are reading patterns, I find that very difficult in crochet.
  21. I would have liked and thought
  22. The first Sin City Bruce Willis rocks! Anything directed by Robert Rodrigues is going to be good anyway.
  23. Philippa Gregory will be out with Three Sisters, Three Queens on August 16th! No synopsis or page numbers yet. Also, the 21st Jack Reacher book, Night School has been set back from September to November Still no synopsis on that one either. Finally, Brandon Sanderson will complete The Reckoners trilogy with Calamity on February 16th!
  24. Try Reasons to Stay Alive.
