[Searching for a book]

Thanks for the replies. It was more of a family drama type of novel. The mother was responsible for the murder/ suicide because in her mind she loved her husband so much. The mother and father were very wrapped up in each other the children were just by- products.

I think the main character survived simply because the mother forgot about her.

I've been searching for a book I read some years ago. It was set in Europe,maybe Sweden I'm not sure. I read it in English. The central character was a young woman who cared for her younger brother or sister after the mother, father and the rest of the siblings died in a murder- suicide.
