  1. A few weeks ago I saw that somebody here was reading a book called The Bookshop That Floated Away and it had such a lovely title that I had to order it. I got it yesterday, read the first 50 pages and I'm still not sure what to think of it. I'll be reading some more chapters tonight.
  2. I'm from Portugal, but I hope someday to move to England!
  3. I'm still waiting for them (I bought them a few days ago on bookdepository)! I hope the mailman comes today with some new books!
  4. I don't know if you guys talk about comics here, but I had a wonderful day reading vol.01 and vol.02 of Chew (from Image comics). Such a great story! Tomorrow I'll have to choose a new book to read!
  5. Thanks, I'm a long time lurker, thought I should get in on the fun! I finished the book and I loved it, I ordered the rest of the collection so I'll be busy with that for some time!
  6. I read the first half of Stephen King's The Gunslinger. I'm really enjoying it. First time reading King's work and so far I'm not dissapointed.
  7. Thanks for making me feel welcome everyone! I really like the works of Robert Howard (my favorite character is Cormac Mac Art), Tolkien and George MacDonald. When it comes to fantasy my favorite book has to be The Hobbit, such a simple but inspiring story! I'm really liking it so far, I love pirates and all kinds of things sea related so this one is right up my alley!
  8. Hi everyone! My name is David, I'm 21 years old and I'm from Portugal. Even though my parents aren't really what you might call readers, since I was a little boy I've had books in my life. My favorite genres are Fantasy, Books about Books, Horror and Gothic fiction. I'm also a pretty hardcore comic book fan. A few months ago I was watching the movie "Hearts in Atlantis" and my whole perspective on books changed, at some point after the main character receives a library card someone says to him "All the master storytellers of the world just waiting for you.", it was my wake up call, I really needed to get some reading done if I was ever to read everything that I wanted! That being said I've been catching up with everything that I absolutely know I'm going to enjoy since earlier this year! I don't have many friends who enjoy books the way I do (not even my girlfriend), and one of my favorite things to do is giving and receiving books so I hope I can meet some nice people here and perhaps even exchange some books ! I guess that's enough for now, hope I'm welcomed here!
