Thanks that does look good and some great review, I was also interested in the history going back further, basically from the Romans or at least the Normans. That may be asking too much though...
Well I'm currently reading The Plantagenets by Dan Jones. It's very good ... Maybe that's what are you looking for

I was hoping to find a good book covering the history of the wars and battles between Britain and France. Kings and Queens, invasions and occupations etc.
Has anyone heard of anything like this? Did a quick search myself but got nothing.
Hello Timstar,
try "That Sweet Enemy" by Robert and Isabelle Tombs. I red it a long years ago and it was very good.

Hello everyone!
I'm Emily, 24, and a bookworm, surprisingly!
I got a bit fed up of not being able to discuss books with people, as my friends aren't really big readers, so here I am!
Hello Emily,
Don't worry, I'm 24 and I have the same problem as you.
I was wondering that bookworms does not already exist! But here we are :-)

The books and series are partly accurate and partly not. The writer (Philippa Gregory) had to imagine the motives, thoughts and conversations, as well as some of the more intimate situations, obviously, but many of the salient historical facts are present and correct. Gregory's books (and the resulting series) are more a blend of fact and fiction than straight fact.
Thank you. I'm just reading the book and it's better than BBC series anyway :-)

I'm now reading The Rise and Fall of the British Empire by Lawrence James and It's amazing book. I red previously The Singapore Story by Lee Kuan Yew.
Can you also recommend me some classics? I'm now on Sir Walter Scott's The Antiquary and really enjoy it.

I like composing my own things based on casual thoughts.
They seem to be unimportant but once you collect them, after a while, they became valuable for you.
Also it's interesting how they can reflect different "eras" you are going through . . .
Virtual People
sometimes I read fiction
before sleep
or listen to radio drama
and than I have a dreams
in a sleep
about what I've just red
or what I've just heard
before sleep
than I weak up
and I don't know
if it was real
before sleep
or it was dream
in a sleep
and I speak with people
and don't know
if that happend
or if it was just fiction
before sleep
so maybe some things
never happend
but I think
they did
and who cares?

I like conservative politics and would be desperate to know more about Victorian era.
Any recommends? Is this book any good?

Definitely Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy by John le Carre.
I saw the film first and completely fall in love with it.
A book brought me a bit of disappointment.

Today bought "The Antiquary" by Sir Walter Scott.
I must admit that I love the plot. Sort of mysterious
scottish environment . . .
But it's going so slow! I don't understand to language
well. It so difficult to "read it through"!
