I'll definitely add Jack Vance to my list.

-
Risingdawn - I've heard of Peter F. Hamilton and Robert Jordan, but not Brandon Sanderson. I'll definitely try all three though.

Hello,
My names Jennifer. I'm 21, (and still thinking i'm 19. I don't know why?!), i live in Staffordshire in the West Midlands.
I'm so excited to find a community around books. I think i'm quickly going to get addicted.
I love reading the likes of Terry Pratchett (he is my god.), Diana Wynne Jones, Joseph Delaney and Eoin Colfer.
I want to branch out and read a wider variety of authors as i tend to stick to a select few.
So if anyone has any recommendations they're greatly of appreciated. I mainly like fantasy, science fiction and horror, but if its worth reading please suggest it!
Nice to meet you.

No Discworld by Terry Pratchett??!! I'd probably choose Harry Potter then.

James Herbert is a great horror writer. BBC one made the secret of Crickley Hall into a mini series in 2012 and several other of his books have been adapted into movies. I'd recommend John Wyndham's books aswell, they're science fiction, but have a few horror elements to them.

I loved Darklord of Derkholm and Deep secret. I've read quite a few by her, but these ones are my favourites.

I have this book. I love learning about history, but struggle with reading non fiction books as they can get boring. This book started out amazing, i loved it though it does become more like a normal history book the more you read. (to be fair, i haven't finished it)

In no particular order, (because i'm lazy) -
- Sleepy hollow
- Pans labyrinth
- Spirited away
- The Matrix (and the Animatrix)
- The alien and predator series
- Resident Evil series
- Hot fuzz
- Little Big soldier
- Logans Run
- Ultra violet
- Final Fantasy: Advent children
- Final Fantasy: Spirits within
- Silent Hill
- Lord of the rings trilogy
- War of the worlds (Tom Cruise remake)
I'm sure there's more, but my head hurts from thinking too hard now.

I love the Aldi one. A little girl sat next to her baby brother. She says, "My brother likes these wipes and he likes these ones and i'd like to change him... for a kitten."
Her brother, who'd been pulling wipes out stops, looks at her, then at the camera and goes, "no!" or a sound like no.
Makes me giggle every time.

The last movie i watched was Heartbreak Ridge starring Clint Eastwood which i'm watching right now. (I love Clint Eastwood.)
2004 version of Dawn of the Dead
Zombies are my thing at the moment!I'm obsessed with zombies at the minute as well. (I say at the minute, but i really mean years.) Have you watched Zombieland? (Its amazing!)
