Roméo Zoulou, factotum des urgences, mort de l'hôpital Un mort au SAMU ne provoque d'ordinaire ni étonnement ni agitation particulière puisque ce type de malheurs y fait partie du quotidien. Ne pas comprendre par-là que les personnels y soient devenus insensibles à ce point aux malheurs de leurs contemporains. Mais lorsque la victime fait partie de la direction, que sa personnalité semble née pour pour attirer jalousies, challenges, conspirations ou simples animosités et donc autant de compétiteurs, opposants, rivaux ou adversaires, devenant ainsi agresseurs, assaillants puis meurtriers ou tueurs potentiels, l'affaire s'avère moins banale. Lorsqu'enfin on comprend que peut-être la victime est aussi victime d'une erreur de cible, l'histoire s'embrouille avant de s'envenimer. Enfin comme la victime est un homme, que le monde médical est féminisé au-delà de la moyenne ou de l'égalité, "chercher la femme" devient plus qu'une stratégie, une nécessité. La Capitaine Heller, malgré le retour mental sur un passé antérieur de son histoire postérieure, fait de son mieux pour se débrouiller d'un écheveau sans queue ni tête et sans en perdre le fil pour remonter en danseuse les lacets tourmentés de la géographie mouvementée des biographies croisées des figurants qui font plus que bonne figure tout au long de l'aventure. Quelle santé pour ce " sacré Robert" tout de même, ce Roméo Zoulou! L'auteur qui nous a habitué aux retournements de situations n'épargne cette fois-ci, ni ses héros, ni ses lecteurs.
