Ellieh24
Hi, I have finally got 6 weeks of my time spare before I go back to college and would love to get back into reading, I've read quite a few good books but the only one book that I really got attached to was 'Me Before You' and I have never been so affected by a book before this. I am now desperate to find a book that has the same affect on me. But I just can't find any that even come close! Please can I have your recommendations for a soppy/sad filled love story that will make me cry again!! Thanks, Ellie. X
frankie
Alrighty then, let's get down to business! I would recommend the following: Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella The Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella The Bridget Jones Diaries by Helen Fielding The Secret of Happy Ever After by Lucy Dillon I've Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella The Ladies of Missalonghi by Colleen McCullough In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner (this, I think, has a bit more depth to it, it deals with two sisters and their problems, but it's great!) I would also recommend Emotional Geology by Linda Gillard but I'm not sure if it's available in stores...? Maybe you could look at Jojo Moyes's other novels, too? Happy holidays and welcome to the forum!
Chrissy
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger made me cry! It's a firm favourite of mine. The Linda Gillard recommendation gets a thumbs up from me too, and you can definitely get all her books on kindle, but perhaps not all in paperback. The book of the moment that fits your criteria is John Green's The Fault In Our Stars. If you are after a good cry - this is pretty much guaranteed! Enjoy your six weeks! Booknutt
Dunno about these making you cry, Storynutter, but Victoria Connelly writes some great light romantic novels. If you happen to be a Jane Austen fan she's done a series of books with Austen-like themes, too. My own favourite is "A weekend with Mr. Darcy" a lovely modern story of Austen-fans and their lives. Whatever you choose - enjoy your .
Athena
I'm going to second these recommendations: The Bridget Jones Diaries by Helen Fielding In Her Shoes by Jennifer Weiner The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (I love this one the most, I think it definitely fits your description) The Fault In Our Stars by John Green I also love the Sophie Kinsella books however they are more upbeat and less sad. And add Nicholas Sparks - The Notebook and its sequel The Wedding.

Janet
It's not really my genre, but many years ago I read Rachel's Holiday by Marion Keyes and I thought it was excellent. I thought it was going to be standard chick-lit but it was so much more. I know you've had a lot of recommendations, and six weeks isn't long enough to read 100s of books unless you're Claire or Gaia! but do take a look and see what you think. Happy reading! I've got one book by Marion Keyes on my TBR. I'm glad to read you enjoyed that one even if it's not the same title. Thanks .
