Hi there, I have recently read a selection of books set in the far east and I have enjoyed all of them. The books included; red lotus, empress orchid, snow flower and the secret fan, memoirs of a geisha and peony in love. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend any other books set in the far east Japan or China etc. They can be fiction or non fiction as I've heard that Wild Swans is good. Thanks in advance

Someone mentioned this recently on YouTube (Tuesday Talks GoodReads Group Link), so I was wondering what you all thought. What do you think of progressive mindsets in historical fiction such as civil rights and feminism? Do you prefer it if a book is quite historically accurate, even if it means a character isn't treated well based on ie. their race or gender, or do you prefer to have some more modern elements in a fictional story (such as more rights for black people or a strong female character)?

I was watching booktube and a book was mentioned and now I cant remember what it's called pr what video I saw it in (probably either peruseproject or abookutopia). It is a historical fiction book set in the war and it has a multiple perspective showing how the war affected different people in different countries. If any of you know what this book is please please let me know. Or, if you know any similar books your suggestions are very welcome as I'm really in the mood for historical fiction at the moment.
