  1. I finished reading the Dark Tower series yesterday and I loved it. Going to miss reading about those characters. Wasn't sure what to make of the ending at first, but the more I think about it, the more it feels right.
  2. I think I'm going to have to go back and re-read His Dark Materials. Must be over 8 years ago that I read them, and I'm not even sure I finished the last book. Remember loving the first 2 though. 3 more books to add to my ever growing 'to-read' list. :/
  3. I recently read this and was slightly disappointed. I was hoping for something on par with 1984 (which is quite possibly my favourite book) but it failed to quite grab my imagination in quite the same way. Which was a real shame.
  4. I've been reading 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep', and with a bout 30 pages I absolutely love it. It took me a few chapters to really get into it, but now I'm getting to the stage where I wish that this book was a lot longer than it actually is. I don't want it to end.
  5. Read 'The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ' by Philip Pullman yesterday. An interesting concept, with certain parts making you think, but ultimately I didn't really like the way it was written and thankful that it was a short book. Read it in about 3ish hours. This morning I started reading IT by Stephen King, first big book of the year. Will probably take me a while.
  6. My favourite changes all the time, but it's currently a tie between Inception and Scott Pilgrim Vs The World.
  7. Finished 'The Running Man' by Stephen King this morning and started 'The Good Man Jesus and the Scoundrel Christ' by Philip Pullman. Not so sure I'm keen on the style it's written in, but will persevere to the end, luckily it's quite a short book.
  8. That's fantastic, might have to use that in the future. I tend to get pretty stressed when looking for a new book to read but this might help a lot.
  9. I'm 23, but turn 24 in about 3 weeks!
  10. I've just started reading 'The Running Man' by Stephen King, which is good so far. You might also be interested in this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Dystopian_novels
  11. I have all the Holmes books on my Kindle, so I'll try and do this this year. I've already read A Study in Scarlett and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes. Using that as a base, I think I'd prefer reading the long novels compared to the short stories, but I think I'll just read them all in chronological order
  12. Finished reading Mockingjay yesterday, really enjoyed the entire trilogy. Not blown away, but enjoyable nonetheless. It was followed by a very stressful hour as I couldn't decide what I wanted to read next, I eventually opted for 'The Running Man' by Stephen King, which I am so far enjoying.
  13. I finished reading Mockingjay yesterday. I really enjoyed the trilogy and I, particularly in the 3rd book, appreciated how the author didn't shy away from the true outcomes of war.
  14. Definitely Sci-Fi for me. Just seems to be open to so many more concepts, which I really enjoy.
  15. Community. Season 3. If this show does end up getting cancelled there will be hell to pay!!
