  1. If you havent already, you could try steven erikson's solo series 'Malazan book of the fallen', Which starts with 'Gardens of the moon', which is a pretty decent book, it just gets a little confusing at points. Another series you could try reading is Tim severin's 'Viking' series, which begins with ' Odinns child', that was a very good book, i'm just about to start the third book. hope these help

  5. Hey guys, I just wanted to know whether or not anyone here knows what this book is called. I saw it in a shop but didnt have any money on me. it's set in the future, and cities have to fly, so they have been engineered to do so. The author was called monk _____ (dont know the second name) and the cover had something about cracking a code, i think the cover was also a kind of turqoise colour. It looked a really good book, but i have firgitten it's name:cry2: if you can help me that would be great.
  6. Have you tried reading 'Mortal Engines' by Phillip Reeve? it's set in the future where towns have been mounted on wheels, as there is no more vegetation left. it's a really exciting and overall enthralling book, i would reccomend it. the main character is from a guild of engineers/ architects.
  7. If you still want to find a book that goes from the past to the present you might like 'Endymion spring' By Matthew Skelton. It's about a book that was magically sealed hundreds of years ago(if i recall correctly it was the 15th century), and can only be opened when the book tastes worthy blood. Then in oxford, modern day, a boy is browsing through a library when his finger is pricked on a book, and events unfold from there. i would reccomend you give it a try!
